I hate complaining about the refs but this is completely egregious, as were the other blown calls against the Knicks in game 2. The NBA micromanages almost everything about how the league is perceived, but lets a Finals game randomly turn into this crap
This is why I laugh when people say Brunson is having a bad series. Of course he is. Every possession looks like a deleted scene from Mortal Kombat and the refs are treating it like legal defense.
So lucky to have this guy as our head coach. People think of great leadership as fixed - boss dictates, talent adjusts - but it’s this kind of give and take that brings out the best in people. A HC / team that grows by trying stuff & communication.
“I fear we are careening toward a future with fewer and fewer journalists to do the expensive, difficult work of original reporting — going to places, talking to people, digging up information, covering important issues and events, providing context…” https://t.co/nNPZLHscXe
I've been doing this work a long time but nothing prepared me for what I saw on a recent reporting trip in Somalia. I was there to look into rising food and fuel prices from the war in the Middle East landing atop dramatic cuts to the international humanitarian relief system.
The EPA's independent science arm did groundbreaking research to save lives. It studied fertility, asthma, wildfires, drinking water, climate change etc etc
In just one year, it has been almost completely dismantled
Of 1500 scientists, only 124 remain

NEW and BREAKING: The FBI began investigating New York Times reporter Elizabeth Williamson earlier this year after she published a story about how Kash Patel was using FBI personnel to provide his girlfriend with govt security and transportation. FBI agents interviewed Patel's girlfriend about Williamson, queried databases for info on the reporter and recommended moving forward to determine whether the reporter broke federal stalking laws. https://t.co/5TqbkghSyI

My story on Elon Musk cutting safeguards at xAI is on the front page of today's @washingtonpost. I’m also among 100’s of reporters laid off. I absolutely love(d) my job, my brilliant coworkers & the thrill of reporting at the center of forces upending the world: AI & Silicon Valley’s political power
NEW: A eulogy for The Post's sports department, which transformed the press box forever and created some of the best sportswriters in America

A staggering statement from former Washington Post editor Marty Baron: "This ranks among the darkest days in the history of one of the world's greatest news organizations."
The Will Lewis era has been defined by a big departure of subscribers, large cuts to one of the world's best newsrooms, his own scandals, terrible morale, meager product updates, lack of clarity...
Hard to find a single positive result. Tragic stuff

Big news from Gov. Kathy Hochul on child care. She will announce today that she’s “committing to fully fund the first two years” of Zohran Mamdani’s implementation of free preschool for 2-year-olds:
