I heard you interview a spokesman from the National Grid about new routes of pylons (transmission towers to engineers).

It was disingenuous of him to claim that this was part of a programme to decarbonise the grid by 2030. This certainly will not happen.

A better comparison would be the Perne Road roundabout. At a meeting in Shire Hall with councillors and officers, I presented Dutch research showed that it is a safer design than Fendon Rd, and that's exactly what has been found.

@_dmoser The cycle-priority design depicted here has a poor safety record in the Netherlands according to SWOV (Institute for Road Safety Research). There are other designs of roundabout with cycling infrastructure in use in the Netherlands that are much safer.

@Chisholm4Trail @alexbeckett @camcycle When a 'desire line' emerges on a site like this, it should be a moment to reflect 'have I got the design wrong?', not to make it less user-friendly and more dangerous.
Of course the main route should lead straight onto the bridge, which makes it easier to bike up and down.
