new portfolio time

Finally launched a new portfolio. Designed and built with Claude, Codex, and Figma. Filled with some side quests and a few years’ worth of projects I’m proud of.

Design Twitter is a very small bubble that tends to overestimate its importance. Most product designers I know (myself included) got their jobs through referrals, portfolios, and their track record, not because they had 50k followers.

It sucks that a huge part of being a successful designer and getting jobs is being well-known.

There are so many talented individuals who can’t get a job just because they didn’t shitpost their way to gaining a huge following.

@ilyamiskov I think we’re conflating “being known” with “being online.” Reputation absolutely matters. But reputation can come from teammates, former managers, products you’ve shipped, or your network… not necessarily from posting every day.

+1 to this. This was one of my favorite parts of redesigning the Transient homepage… letting the art breathe.

Bigger imagery. Minimal chrome. Just enough information to understand what you’re looking at before diving deeper.

The homepage became the gallery _and_ the discovery engine.

Love seeing it continue to evolve.

The Transient homepage isn't built to feel like a gallery. It's a discovery experience made for the internet.

No shrinking. No cropping. No overlays. Art is displayed as big as possible, front and center, the way it deserves to be seen.

We used to run separate browse pages. Data showed people were spending most of their time on the homepage, not browse pages. So we brought the browsing experience straight into the homepage.

No categories, just art. Take a scroll, I bet you'll find works you like.

Might not feel as much like a "gallery", but that was never the point. The goal is to hit you in the face with every piece of art launched through our platform.
