So proud of @mdebaker1, who just killed it defending her PhD @UMNeurosci! Awesome research on VTA activity, sex diffs, & SUD, conducted by an awesome human. Completely unsurprised at how many colleagues, past & present, came out to support her. Congrats, Dr. Margot DeBaker! 👩🎓
#eNeuro: @mdebaker1 et al. show that differential engagement of inhibitory G protein-dependent feedback pathways in VTA likely impacts drug-specific neurophysiological and behavioral effects of addiction and may underlie associated sex differences in mice.

My latest paper is up! We found that protein kinase C epsilon regulates nAChR mRNA expression differently in male vs female mice, which functionally impacts nAChR-influenced behaviors. An awesome team effort with @mdebaker1@wickman_kevin and @AnnaLeesci. https://t.co/vJ4QyVd5Kh
My first first-author paper is out as a preprint! It’s titled “Wide-Field Calcium Imaging of Dynamic Cortical Networks During Locomotion” and shows premotor regions play a role in coordinating widespread activation of cerebral cortex during walking. 1/18

@PNASNews accepted a paper first-authored by our very own Allison Anderson, a PhD candidate in the @WickmanLab. Allison's paper on GPCR-dependent biasing of GIRK channel signaling dynamics is based on her substantial contribution to the research project. Congratulations, Allison!
Congrats @edoncheck, @HillardCece, Qing-song Liu and the rest of our team! Paper accepted in @NPP_Journal and on line! Sex, stress, and prefrontal cortex: influence of biological sex on stress-promoted cocaine seeking. https://t.co/FKcKNb99ir. Nice way to end the week!
I was in the middle of a productive morning when I hear a knock on my door asking for assistance....I think the quarantine boredom is starting to hit my mom pretty hard😅
