@mrsballs69 Sometimes it felt totally random. Didn’t get invites from some of the “safe” places I applied, but I got some from places I thought I had no business interviewing with 🤷🏻♂️
@mrsballs69 I emailed my top choice in November and got an invite within a week, matched there. The whole process is stressful but it works out eventually!
Time for a spicy take.
We should cut the numbers of EM physicians by half, and have night EDs covered primarily by rotating PCPs w/AI assistance+EM backup. Why?
Because medicine needs to radically refocus on the well-being of our workers- by reducing night work per physician.
@PulmCrit I agree, although oral alternatives won’t be enough. In the ED we don’t want to give anything oral until a surgical emergency is ruled out, I.e. waiting for imaging to come back. Not efficient, and often not good care, to wait to rehydrate.
NEW: Kamala Harris’s missing “summer job” at McDonald’s job. Her resume and job application a year after graduating college — @FreeBeacon obtained through FOIA — don’t mention it. Neither do either of her books, or either of the biographies on her. @SaysSimonson@ChuckRossDC and @AndrewKerrNC report:

doctor: do you drink alcohol?
me: yeah a couple times a week
doctor (pulling out a bottle of whiskey and two cups): ok amazing it's been a really tough week actually
@oatsdoc Radiologists are overall the nicest at any hour. I’ve also had wonderful experiences with ophthalmology as long as I’m not asking them to come into the ED
@RyanMarino I don’t understand how this would even work. Would people just be in pain all the time from their endogenous pain control mechanisms being blocked? What happens when they’re in an accident and need opiates? Seems like a bad idea.
