@awesomekling Context: I used to be like this. It made it easier to offload blame when things didn’t go the way I wanted — “I must have had the wrong shoes/glove/skateboard”. I’m sure that was partly true part of the time, but adaptation is one of the most valuable skills one can have.

@sweetposting I’d argue plenty of neurotypical people lack cognitive empathy. I’m not aware of that as a feature of ASDs—and I say that truly, I’m not up to date. I do know the category is defined by impaired theory of mind; what is the process of cognitive empathy like for you?
