Debt is overused heavily in almost every aspect of society. Acquiring debt should only be for times when the chance of expected increase in return is almost guaranteed. Most individuals that acquire debt today to delayed the inevitable of having no resources. (AKA the US Govt)
@daelmor Yeah, kids starting with lots of money usually have much less motivation than those who have nothing.
When we started our first company (Zip2) in 95, I had over $100k of student debt, a computer I built myself and a few thousand dollars.
4am hits hard sometimes. I'm both lonely and full of love, unsure of anything and yet happy. Where did we come from? Why are we here? I don't know, but I like it. The people are beautiful and the food is delicious.
@mattyglesias Tough take. Student loan debt is optional to an extent. The additions from capitalism far outweigh the negatives since the time period you provided. What about life expectancy? Did capitalism play a role to increase life by ~50% since that time? I think so
