A massive humanitarian crisis is ongoing in Spain, but no one is talking about it👇🏼

On Oct 29th, Valencia, Spain and a number of surrounding communities were hit with catastrophic flash flooding, taking more than 200 lives, and leaving more than 800 souls still missing — More than 4500 buildings and 100,000 vehicles have been damaged.

A @mediccorps crisis response team is on the ground working tirelessly with locals, emergency personnel, churches, and community members who’ve been hit the hardest, providing critical aid and supplies, as well as Starlink which gives these victims direct access to the outside so their most critical needs can continue to be met!

Sue flagged down our crew during our time in North Carolina this weekend. She had no power, no food, no water, and no ability to travel. She had just undergone heart surgery two weeks ago. SpaceX engineers are trying to deliver Starlink terminals & supplies to devastated areas in North Carolina right now and @FEMA is both failing to help AND won’t let others help. This is unconscionable!!

They just took this video a few hours ago, where you can see the level of devastation: roads, houses, electricity, water supply and ground Internet connections completely destroyed.

@FEMA wouldn’t let them land to deliver critical supplies … my blood is boiling …

The devastation we witnessed today in Western North Carolina was heart breaking. Hurricane Helene brought 16 inches of water (40 trillion gallons across its path) to the region within 24 hours wiping out homes, building, highways and sometimes whole communities. I was grateful to once again join my friends at CityServe, Love and Life, and Mercy Chefs on their mission to deliver crucial relief to first responders and families affected by the destruction.

Love and Life coordinated air rescues for stranded individuals and delivered and set up over 300 Starlinks donated by SpaceX (thank you @elonmusk!) to help restore vital communication for Fire Departments. We provided hot meals, fresh produce from Planet Harvest, and emergency supplies to those in need.

God bless all the families affected and the first responders working tirelessly to aid them. ❤️‍🩹
