Extreme human right violation in the form of inhumane duty hours at AIIMS Nagpur Paediatrics
Dear parents please be aware of cruel reality that is confessed on record. On record mein itna cruel hai tho off paper mein hamara bachon ko kya hoga?
Residency scheme issued by Ministry of health & family welfare in 1992 caps 48 hours a week for a junior resident which is 192 hours a month whereas law violators forces at AIIMS Nagpur squeezes our children 540 hours a month with 15 times 24 hours duties
No shame!!!! No fear!!!!No guilt!!!! No humanity at all!
Where are the regulating bodies and human rights commissions?
Do people at AIIMS Nagpur have special powers to break government norms and crush our young children for 24 hours cruelly multiple times??
I kindly request doctor associations, freelancers, human right organizations, any responsible citizen to take this matter very seriously and do something to save our children from deaths and quitting
Now the same AIIMS tell duty rosters contains personal information of residents. So it can’t be disclosed.
Last year the duty roster of AIIMS Nagpur was public document and I have it. This year it has become a private document
What kind of personal information of residents a duty roster can have except name? Contact Number, E-mail Id, blood group or address? Nothing. Nothing
This is just a lame excuse to deny information. Also 98% duty rosters across India do not have any duty timings. They have only resident’s name and posting location
1) If a senior PG forces you to work, call UGC anti ragging line 1800-180-5522.
2) If toxic HoD forces you to work long illegal duty hours that puts patient care under risk, complain at the police station, NMC and CPGRAM.
Good morning. My day did not start well.
I received a distressing email from a young doctor.
"Dear Dr Abby,
I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the recent introduction of an MD program in Ayurveda (MD Ayurveda Manovigyan Evam Manasa Roga) at NIMHANS, an institution widely regarded as a premier center for evidence-based psychiatric and neuroscientific education.
Despite sending multiple emails to authorities including the National Medical Commission Chairman, Directorate of Medical Education Karnataka, Karnataka Medical Council, the Director and Dean of NIMHANS, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and the Indian Medical Association, I have unfortunately not received any response yet.
This development raises serious concerns among practitioners of evidence-based medicine. Integrating fundamentally different systems of medicine, particularly within a premier national institute, risks blurring the line between scientifically validated practices and non-evidence-based approaches. If such initiatives continue unchecked, it may gradually influence other medical institutions across the country. I am particularly concerned about the apparent lack of response or intervention from the Indian Medical Association. As a representative body of modern medicine practitioners, IMA’s role in addressing such critical issues is essential.
I sincerely hope you will consider taking this matter forward and help safeguard the standards of evidence-based medical education in India.
Thank you."
Now, I cannot stop the Government from destroying what the scientific community has built over decades. It is easy for them to do this - to showcase nationalism, civilizational, traditional and cultural pride - to appeal to emotions of the people - to maintain a vote bank from a certain section of the population. But such acts slowly and steadily, erode scientific temperament and damage reputation of major institutions and demean/downgrade medical and research output from India. NIMHANS has always been a big target for pseudoscience infiltration and they are systematically taking over, in the name of integrative medicine.
I understand the active and current faculty and leadership at NIMHANS are castrated from voicing concerns, but I call out to the Alumni and the strong general medical bodies in Karnataka/India to prevent such courses from getting legitimacy in colleges of repute - because tomorrow, an Ayurvedic quack will proudly show a certificate of graduation from NIMHANS, similar to a DM or Mch graduate from the same institution. This is an insult to the scientific community who shed blood and tears to get into and complete gruelling training programs at NIMHANS.
Please tag the medical organizations who you think will have the balls to take this up. An MD course in Ayurveda should be isolated to All India Institute of Ayurveda and such third-rate institutions and not an institute of repute like NIMHANS.
As examples, I have attached excerpts from Ayurvedic teaching syllabus on "Ayurveda Psychiatry" and what these so-called "MD Ayurveda" graduates learn.
Tell me, is the promotion of this primitive, primal, inhumane, misogynistic, nauseating history of medicine past worth it?

@drvasusadineni Kid, if you don't understand strength of evidence and grade of evidence, it is best not to comment on it. Good job exposing yourself.
And what a foolish take this is. This is like saying, "People having healthy diet also get ill, then how can they question people who eat junk?"
@drvasusadineni He is educating the public on the dangers of medicine being practiced by people who are not qualified for it (also known as "alternative medicine" practitioners). Every word he said is true, and he has reasoned out why. What is your problem, Vaidya?
@drvasusadineni@CCRAS_MoAyush@moayush@narendramodi@AyushKarnataka@mpprataprao Mental health of people is being disturbed by unscientific, unregulated and baseless practices like Ayurveda. Just because your 2000 year old ancestor said XYZ is the treatment of cancer doesn't make that XYZ the treatment of cancer. I'm sorry, that is not how science works.
@vishwasanskruti Personal anecdotes are not evidence.
Millions of people reach real modern medicine practitioners after getting frauded by ayurveda who don't have any idea about the basis of cancer, given them fraud treatments which led to their cancers progressing beyond repair.
@vishwasanskruti@theliverdoc And thanks for proving that Ayurveda is a pseudoscience by explicitly mentioning that you don't use the scientific method to prove the effectiveness of your treatments.
@vishwasanskruti@theliverdoc Nice way of running away. If you claim your treatment is what led to patient improvement, then the burden of proof is on you, not on common public who questions it.
@vishwasanskruti@theliverdoc The only report he is showing is a fall of bilirubin from 8 to 4
How do you know his cancer has disappeared?
How do you know it is the ayurvedic drug that caused the improvement? Why can't it be the water he drank that led to the improvement?
@vishwasanskruti@theliverdoc The ayurved doctor you showed was doing some random thing and claiming it as cure for hepatocellular cancer without any evidence whatsoever.
