Client feedback like this means so much! I love helping authors see their stories from a fresh perspective. Want to know what your opening chapters are doing well and what could be improved?
I’m offering 2 chapters FREE as a beta-reading sample! DM me to get started.
@SWAnimus01 So the others are about to discover the wonders of coffee shops! I love that it’s a casual stop but still moves the story forward. Do they settle on a place to stay easily, or does asking for directions turn into its own little adventure?
@manda_dodge Nearly 5k words while dealing with a migraine is still a lot! Please don’t feel bad about taking an extra day. What are you working on that has you aiming for 10k a day?
@ElizabethKaida 685 words and all that editing? Those paragraphs must have been fighting for their lives! Do you usually find it hard to cut parts you’ve worked on, or does it feel satisfying when you know the manuscript is tighter?
@vivstormauthor Draft 9 is a huge commitment! What genre is your book? And have you had beta readers go through it yet, or have most of the revisions been based on your own edits and feedback from others?
Accountability post:
I want to finish a first draft of my duology by the end of the year. I’m currently at 33k words. 2k words a day on average. Give me strength. Or alcohol.
@t_j_davies 😂 Imagine being volunteered to teach maths without even applying! At least your debut novel has a dedicated promoter. Have you figured out who’s behind it yet?
@TJHall81 I’m sorry the rejection hit you that hard. But 1,690 words on a difficult day is still a win! Do you think you’ll feel better about writing once you’ve had a little time away from it?
@QuillElska That’s a huge milestone! Finishing your 10th novel must feel amazing. Are you already thinking about what comes next, or are you going to enjoy this one first?
Your story deserves a fresh pair of eyes!
As a beta reader and book editor, I help authors strengthen their manuscripts with honest, thoughtful feedback while respecting their unique voice.
I’m offering the first 3 chapters for FREE! DM me now!!
Writers, let’s talk
What part of writing do you find hardest?
✍️ Starting the story?
📖 Building the plot?
🔍 Revising what you’ve already written?
And what’s one thing you’ve learned about your writing along the way?
I’d love to hear how other writers approach the process.
@ADoucetteWrites Under 138K and still tightening the pacing? That sounds like some satisfying progress! But now I’m curious about the Mercutio comparison. What makes Guild your Mercutio? And are you planning to get fresh eyes on the manuscript once you’ve finished revising?
@BWheelerBooks 1,700 words in one night?! You’re so close to that 20K milestone! I love seeing writers make this kind of progress. What’s Woods about, if you don’t mind sharing a little?
@KAWildeAuthor Maybe your ideas just have too much story to fit into a short story! I’m curious: what usually makes your ideas grow into something bigger- the characters, the worldbuilding, or the plot twists?
@DREAMING_KATT@xn45861659 Are you looking for someone to proofread it once it's ready, or would you also be open to having a Japanese translator review the translation itself?
@DREAMING_KATT@xn45861659 This sounds like a really interesting project!. Since the goal is to make it readable for Japanese fans, having someone who knows JP well review the machine-assisted translation could make a huge difference.
