Dear @SecKennedy, Have you actually read the House GOP’s new Farm Bill draft, the main blueprint for ag policy? You say this administration is working to transition farmers away from pesticides — but this bill doubles down on subsidies for chemical-intensive agriculture and expands support for pesticides in so many ways--including preempting state's rights to pass protective pesticide laws. (see @foe_us blog below).

And let’s not forget the so-called “Big Beautiful Bill” steered $200B+ to chemical-intensive monocrops — crops that largely feed animals, fuel cars, and supply junk food and seed oils.

Organic remains the only meaningful safeguard against pesticide exposure. The National Organic Program was cut from ~80 staff to ~30. and this farm bill does little to support organic farmers or organic transition.

Meanwhile, USDA has slashed nearly a third of its conservation staff, leaving many NRCS offices barely functioning and little support to help farmers transition. USDAs recent announcement of a regenerative ag program (generated with no new funds) without more staff for TA or a guarantee that it wont support no till pesticide intensive farming is a farce and a drop in the bucket.

There is no serious plan to transition U.S. agriculture to regenerative, chemical-free systems. In fact, all signs are that this administration is making that toxic-free future immpossible at the moment.

Pam Bondi was a lobbyist at Ballard Partners. This is profoundly important in understanding why the Administration would take such an unpopular position on an issue so important to MAHA in an election season.

Trump’s CoS, Susie Wiles, and Pam Bondi both worked for Ballard Partners; Wiles was a managing partner at Mercury. It appears their lobbying didn’t end when they took their positions with the administration.

BTW - for anyone still failing to understand the EO and effective immunity, it is important to note that by calling glyphosate a national security concern and stating that the Sec of Ag should ensure they do not “endanger the corporate viability” of glyphosate producers, the Administration is providing new defenses and demonstrating that the DOJ will continue to fight against liability for people sickened by these poisons. 🚨 Serious Concerns Raised Over Meta’s 4,500-Acre Solar Project in Stockton, Alabama That Endangers Alabama’s Ecosystem And Wildlife 🚨

The Tech Bros are at it again with their political and climate change hypocrisy. Now Mark Zuckerberg @finkd @Meta is trying to destroy “Alabama’s Amazon”.

Meta Platforms, through their partner Silicon Ranch, is advancing a 4,500-acre solar farm in Stockton, Baldwin County, Alabama, to supply renewable energy to its AI data center more than 150 miles away near Montgomery, Alabama. The Alabama Public Service Commission approved the project in late 2025, and it appears to have been fast tracked.

A public town hall is scheduled for this evening at 6:30 p.m. CST at the Stockton Civic Center in Stockton, Alabama where community members will seek answers on site selection, mitigation measures, and long-term impacts.

As someone who spends a lot of time in Alabama and cares about protecting animals, wildlife and their natural habitats, this bothers me.

The site borders the Mobile-Tensaw Delta, one of the nation’s most ecologically significant and biodiverse regions, often called “Alabama’s Amazon” for its rich biodiversity, supporting hundreds of species of fish, birds, and mammals. It offers extensive recreational opportunities like canoeing, kayaking, fishing, and hunting via the Bartram Canoe Trail system. 

It features high-quality wetlands, critical habitat for federally protected species including the gopher tortoise and Swainson’s warbler, and extensive wildlife corridors. See photos of these animals below. 👇🏻

The Mobile-Tensaw River Delta is Alabama's largest wetland, the second-largest river delta in the U.S., and a National Natural Landmark, featuring a vast network of rivers, creeks, and swamps that create a highly diverse ecosystem.

It is home to over 300 bird species, numerous rare and endangered plants and animals, and a wide variety of fish, including bass, crappie, and redfish.

Environmental advocates and members of the community are outraged over the decision by Meta to locate this major development in such a sensitive area when less biodiverse, more suitable sites exist much closer to the Meta AI data center in Montgomery. The clearing of thousands of acres risks significant harm to wetlands, wildlife, and the broader ecosystem through land disturbance, sedimentation, runoff, and exposure to severe weather.

The cons of building this AI Data center outweighs the renewable energy gains.

What’s most interesting though is how contradictory this decision is to Meta’s public commitments to environmental stewardship and climate advocacy. The apparent disconnect between corporate sustainability rhetoric and the project’s ecological footprint has raised serious concerns among residents, conservationists, and those who prioritize both renewable energy and the protection of irreplaceable natural ecosystems and endangered species.

Can large-scale renewable projects genuinely advance sustainability if they come at the cost of our most valuable remaining natural landscapes?

This is a big act of hypocrisy from Mark Zuckerberg. Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan have invested heavily in environmental protection, focusing on carbon removal technologies and ocean conservation through the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI) and personal philanthropy. They have pledged $44 million for carbon removal research and $50 million for Hawaii ocean conservation, while targeting net-zero emissions for Meta by 2030. 

What difference does this make if they are going to destroy valuable ecosystems?

Hypocrites!

Here's Marco Rubio testifying before Shaheen, who wants to know where that 200 million dollars is. Rubio starts by claiming that "eventually", it will be moved into the Treasury, but then back tracks and says that the Treasury will one day be able to "audit" where it went - at taxpayer expense - using an auditor that Trump deems acceptable for the Treasury to use to audit the spending of the money.

Trump stole 200 million dollars and parked it in the Middle East so that he could keep it from taxpayers.
