If you have some time to try some of the 27 immersive stories from #XR3 this weekend, then this thread 🧵👇should help you pick which of the 3 DLCs to dig into. There's *a lot* of really amazing work only available until June 20th. At least grab free copy of @MuseumOR to explore.
People love to dunk on Liberal Art majors.
But the skills you pick up in these degrees are super valuable. They just need rebranding...
English = Storytelling
History = Pattern Matching
Psych = Human Behavior, EQ, Marketing
Poli Sci = Systems Design, Incentives
All important.

@awoods@mulegirl I respectfully don’t share this perspective. We are comparing human judgement. The average drivers ability to select an optimal outcome in a collision is not going to be more reliable than the average programmers ability to test it
To illustrate, here is how the maps look for Minneapolis (most ordered) & Charlotte (most disordered), rendered with this amazing tool for showing maps of roads by @anvaka: https://t.co/erVuwOOSWJ
My feed is full of tech pessimism today. Take a deep breath and repeat after me: computers are not replacing humans. Tech is a toolkit. Let’s stay real. Let’s be grateful. Let’s inspire each other to make it better and more ethical. Complaining is easy. Let’s work.
@mulegirl I completely disagree for so many reasons, the first being numbers of vehicle fatalities, the last being how short sighted it is to ignore the project of tech dev overall. The components being developed to make that work open the door for so much invention
1/ THREAD covering a #NeuroRights gathering co-sponsored by @FBRealityLabs & @Columbia_NTC's @neuro_rights called "Noninvasive Neural Interfaces: Ethical Considerations Conference."
They'll be Looking at the ethical implications of XR technologies from neuroscience POV.
@corybramall You know I love start ups and actually love that kind of ambiguity but can we please drop the professional sounding job descriptions and just be real??? Like: we are starting up. It’s going to be bumpy, we are going to ask for too much but we are stoked. Wanna play?
