The average interest rate on a 2 yr fixed mortgage has leapt to 6.42%.

The average rate on an easy access savings account is only 2.43%.

They big 4 banks alone are profiteering by over £23bn pa by increasing mortgage rates but not passing high interest rates to savers.

The facts banks are only fully passing rate rises on to borrowers not savers is counterproductive and profiteering. Encouraging saving, takes money out of the economy to help inflation too. Govt should be pushing hard to ensure banks don't just increase margins
