Internationally, he became a member of the International Narcotics Control Board (INCB) in 1995 and served as its senior vice-president. Dil Jan Khan Marwat was instrumental in establishing the Police Public School & College in Peshawar.
After his retirement, Dil Jan Khan Marwat devoted himself to social welfare through the Dil Jan Foundation, which he established in 2006. He donated his own land and resources to establish a hospital/health facility in his native village, Begukhel, Lakki Marwat.
He served as Inspector General of Police and was Commandant of the Frontier Constabulary from Dec1983 to Nov 1985.He subsequently held important federal positions, including Federal Secretary (SAFRON) He was awarded the Sitara-i-Basalat by the President of Pakistan in 1990.
Dil Jan Khan Marwat, the well-known senior Pakistani civil servant and police officer from Lakki Marwat, had a very distinguished career.
