@tanpukunokami Come to New Mexico, and you can try them all and decide for yourself which is best.
It is not a civil war, just a heated discussion with no right or wrong answer.
@lyrapresspete@SBakerMD Peter, your great counter argument has persuaded me. Dr. Baker, who shows his face everywhere, is a chat bot, and you are the real deal.
@SBakerMD Which, coincidently, is exactly the same system that has been implemented for people. That expense paid medical conference to show doctors why Cherios are "Heart Healthy" doesn't have anything to do with hearts.
Your vet isn’t getting a cash bonus for the kibble bag. The system is cleaner than that.
Hill’s, Purina, and Royal Canin fund the nutrition centers, lectureships, and textbooks at the vet schools. Students learn that processed “complete and balanced” diets are the evidence-based standard and that fresh or raw options are risky. After graduation the same companies sponsor the continuing education, send the reps, and stock the clinic shelves. The clinic makes a solid margin on every bag sold. Liability is lower when you recommend the product the manufacturer backs.
No secret handshake required. Just a pipeline that starts in school and ends with the bag on the counter. The dog gets the kibble. The system gets the revenue. Everyone calls it science.
@KurtSchlichter The money you think that you are owed should come from the politicians that stole your money. Seize the assests of every person that has served in Congress. Leave them with 2 million in an investment account and an abandonded house in Detroit. Presidents too.
@ItsStella_4 No, I am not OK with buying a gun using the same rules as voting, but I am OK with using the same rules voting purchase that we use for a gun purchase.
Universities Are Training Students to Offshore & Outsource American Jobs
I know because I lived it. My Master's in IT included entire modules on outsourcing and offshoring. Not framed as a danger to America, but as the "smart" way forward. No other country trains its brightest to hollow out its own workforce. China doesn't. India doesn't. The EU doesn't. But America does.
Taxpayer-funded education is literally teaching graduates how to ship American jobs overseas.
Examples:
Florida Atlantic University (FAU) MSITM: Required ISM 6509 - IT Sourcing Management. Special Topics (ISM 6930) covers "Historical and economic perspectives on outsourcing and offshoring. Trade-offs among global sourcing models including Domestic Outsourcing and Offshore Outsourcing." (FAU syllabus/course descriptions)
University of Texas at Austin McCombs: IB 368 - Global Value Chains. Students learn how firms "organize international production, trade, and investments through outsourcing and offshoring." (McCombs catalog/sample syllabus)
Rutgers Business School: International Business Policy. Core topics include "Outsourcing, offshoring, inshoring, and global supply chain strategy." (Rutgers syllabus)
Columbia College: CISS 390 - Global Information Systems Management. Learning outcome: "Conduct a cost-benefit analysis of decisions involving outsourcing or offshoring." (Columbia syllabus)
Duke University Masters of Management: Capstone readings treat "the global offshoring phenomenon" as foundational. (Duke program notes)
Texas A&M Commerce: AEC 560 - International Trade & Policy. Modules cover "outsourcing, offshoring, and fear of globalization." (TAMU-Commerce syllabus)
This isn't fringe. It's across multiple universities, states, and programs. If grad students leave trained and expected to offshore/outsource, the result is inevitable: drain of American jobs, industries, and resources.
Governors and State Education Boards must act. Audit curricula. Stop teaching outsourcing/offshoring as a "skill." No taxpayer should finance their own economic displacement.
Tag your Governor - demand they check state college curriculums and remove these job-killing modules.
