@ScottPh77711570 @Tallow_beach I'm all for humbling those who don't respect their local hosts. Israelis come from a part of the world where lessons often have to be learned the hard way. But entitlement isn't justified. Hopefully their behavior improves. We are a stubborn people though...

This isn't my attempt at justification. I don't know enough about your specific experience or what happened. Just my attempt to provide some context to those who may not know and maybe some nuance. I do know that when I attended the local synagogue in rome, the Italian army closed down the street adjacent to the synagogue entrance on Friday night and I had to pass a checkpoint to enter. Other European cities have strict security checkpoints at local cities and will ask basic Jewish questions before they let you enter during services. Unfortunately, it is becoming common in many American cities too.

My post wasn't really about Israeli behavior in Thailand. I'm sure some of it is pretty reprehensible. But Chabad isn't really an Israeli organization. They will open centers wherever Jews are found. In Thailand that would be mostly Israelis. Many other Jewish tourists and residents will spend a Shabbat there too. The chabad rabbis are residents, often not Israeli, and are seeking to establish a long term spiritual presence as part of the broader community. Hence my context to try and differentiate

Following this conversation and gonna wade in here maybe with some context.
I can understand you being pissed, and ya israeli kids in foreign countries can be hella obnoxious (probably living in a part of the world where everyone not like them hates them) but I think progress could be made there.
The chabad thing stems from very real incidents in the recent past.

@SystematicPeter Unless you have a third party solution like order clerk ibkr is going to be way more complicated to program or script something. Having TWS is nice but the API is a headache. Alpaca has an MCP server as well now so very easy to vibe code a simple execution script.

@YBZ59 @hackertrader Someone that uses equal bet size for all trades. If exposure is a fixed notional amount, the position size doesn't take into account the volatility of the stock or the strength of the signal. It is quick and easy but may be missing some information that is embedded in the market.
