@SAYWHATOrg Zimbabwe should not ban social media outright; it should build protected access that keeps children online while reducing harm. The approved National Child Online Protection Policy already points in that direction. The question is will it be implemented?
@alexasumburero@SAYWHATOrg Exposure to adult veduwe content like what Gava highlighted giving the Queen Nadia example. Cyber bullying in all its forms. In Birir rural areas a child committed suicide by just immitating what they saw on social media. Exploitation included. Grooming is not to be left out
@SAYWHATOrg We cannot unilaterally switch off social media for children, but we can try create laws that make access harder, safer, and more accountable for platforms operating in Zimbabwe which is not a piece of cake.
Tokenism is not transformation. Zimbabwe needs new tables, built on dignity, agency, and justice.
If you’ve ever been invited to the table but silenced at it this is your reminder: you belong at the center, not the margins.
#TransformDoNotTokenize#WeAreTheNow
“Inclusion without power is decoration.”
If your agenda is not for us—with us… We won’t accessorize it. We’ll redefine it. Women and youth deserve more than seats they deserve voice, influence, and respect.
