@austinlouisray@SuzanneBurnes this sounds like something someone in your network could help with. We had a lot of local water runoff folks during the EcoDistricts days.
@ATLWatershed your phone number keeps sending us in a loop and hanging up. There seems to be a water main break in the street around 100 Vannoy St SE with a lot of water bubbling out of the pavement
Waking up to the expected that sad news that Council voted ‘yes’ is easier to swallow hearing that folks kept up the testimony until the wee hours. #StopCopCity will galvanize folks for years to come. Vote. Them. Out.
I can't be there in person but so proud of those at @atlcouncil to #StopCopCity . Made my donation to @ATLSolFund, spent hours organizing friends and calling into public comment in '21. Our city deserves better than a bloated vanity project that won't keep our neighbors safe.
@maggie_a_lee This is also not ADA compliant as I assume most reader assist devices won’t read the image. Could be hidden on this view but I don’t see an alt text imbed/link 🤷♀️ big fail
@MARTAservice rough start to this weekends #transitequityday as folks waited last night in the cold at 5pts for the 55 that failed to come at 5:15 or 5:30 and several other late or overcrowded buses. We gotta do better!
@atlurbanist @EricTeusink A lot of folks also oppose it because of its ridiculous cost (at any location) which is higher than facilities in NYC and other larger jurisdictions. Given its timeline, it does nothing to meet the current needs like force depletion, more PAD or similar responders, etc.
@atlcouncil@Michael_J_Bond@NPR Atlantans (me included) gave thousands of hours of testimony that we did not want this facility. We wrote letter. We called council. We protested. And folks are still protesting. Spend our tax dollars on things that actually keep communities safe, not an overpriced cop playground
@queer_spice Oh forgot: fancy cake is overrated/often not tasty. Cupcakes or a Whole Foods cake work fine w some love! Dresses at Anthropology comparatively cheap or vintage/thrift or having someone make it via pattern (my mom sewed mine based on 50s style)! Ambiance + love is better than $$
@queer_spice 2/2 have friends help build and install decor (we are a creative fam), had friends/fam do specific roles at wedding to cut down on staff/planner (aunts love small jobs! Very excited to be needed!). Use simple in-season flowers and greenery, no one remembers detailed bouquets.
I feel like I weirdly follow a lot of folks in #history Twitter. Maybe they can help me: looking for a good book on the late 1800s history of Manaus, especially their Black Governor who transformed the are into the “Paris of the Tropics”but have found little, even in Portuguese.
@hannahcrileyy I’ll give it to these lil signals, resilient. This one was trying its hardest at Metropolitan and Dill (crosswalk for the library) tonight. 😐🫡 signaling his best
@hannahcrileyy They have also added lots of new restaurants, development, etc over the years and no new crosswalks. Running from Switchyards to lunch across the street is a game of Frogger. 🤦♀️ whole strip needs crosswalks, not just the lights!
@hannahcrileyy@DeadSelves I had the eggplant (maybe a year ago at this point) and it was really good! They had a great Lambrusco on the menu that was a terrific pairing. I also don’t find their pizza to be good if you are craving pizza.
