@mikecarpenter46@ldtestino Thanks for the thoughtful responses, Mike. I think we both hope for the best but are also skeptical that things will ever be better. Government agencies aren't typically designed or ran with the constituents best interests in mind.
@SenBrentTaylor @JohnnyGarrett Iโm prepared to take this on and have the financial backing to see it through. Iโm confident I can execute at a high level. Letโs connect and talk through next steps.
@mikecarpenter46@ldtestino 4. Parents on the board- on this point, we agree. Your suggestion of a former parent who had to leave the district because of the state of affairs would be a great choice. An administrator who is in the trenches every day would also be a worthy addition.
@mikecarpenter46@ldtestino 1. Your assessment of what is to come is that we "must prepare for a new education reality, not necessarily a better one". How is it possible that it will not be better? It cannot get any worse. Our current school board and system are completely inept and a disservice to our kids
@mikecarpenter46@ldtestino 3. "The Board of Managers will be majority white" How about we just pick the best people regardless of race? Crazy, I know, but I would prefer we have the best minds in the room versus checking boxes and hitting quotas to make people feel better.
@mikecarpenter46@ldtestino 2. Hyde or Poplar foundation appointment- "While not everyone supports their education improvement efforts" Please cite examples and not vague innuendos. We are fortunate they continue to support education in this city.
@memphistigerjeb I'm all for generating passive income for the program, but respectfully, this looks terrible and would ruin the experience of tailgating. Coliseum...cover the place in panels.
My biggest takeaway from NBA Playoff basketball so far is defensively tilted perimeter players who are little threats to score the basketball are not viable in this current postseason environment. Given the shifts in size, with teams leaning into double big or true C and PF sized lineups, you can't afford to play 4v5 on offense in the playoffs. There's too much help in the gaps, in the paint, too many bodies for someone to have to beat off the dribble to create a shot. If teams double, that skip pass has to go to a viable scorer, or else you're just bleeding possessions away.
@Memphudo_BR Solid case here. Iโd counterpoint that if you arent going to go Caleb, you pass Boozer and take a full swing at Acuff. I think outside of the top 2, heโs got the best chance to be an absolute game-changer. Then grab a big with 16 (personally I like Mara or YL for diff reasons)
