@LDeVault002 I do find that students are more motivated and engaged when learning through a blended learning approach. Students, from my experience, love technology and it makes learning more exciting, therefore they are more engaged and willing to participate.
@jaimebaffuto I agree! Blended learning takes teaching styles from before the technology era and combines it with today's technological way of life. It's more effective due to everything you stated, especially when students will continue to use and see technology all around them in the future.
@JDiaz003 You make a great point! Blended learning creates an opportunity to integrate technology into classrooms, which students enjoy. Learning through technology not only shows benefits and success among students, but also makes it easier for teachers to assess data and review work.
@JDiaz003 I recommend integrating emerging trends that are kid friendly in k-2 classrooms. There are a lot of emerging trends that would be successful in an older classroom setting, compared to younger. Blended classrooms on Schoology seem to be successful in a k-2 classroom setting.
@MrDownes214 AI encourages students not to give up when faced with a challenge. Students can use AI to get started on their own thoughts, opinions, and work. They can use AI to continuously grow their knowledge and understanding on topics, which will make them more successful in their work.
@jaimebaffuto A challenge I face using gamification in the classroom is having time to find or create resources. I find that game-based learning is easier to plan for and find resources for, even though gamification is more productive and successful for learning.
@JWahl4520@tompgavin The class channel is a great idea so all of their work would be together. I'm not super familiar with YouTube and creating content on it but I'm sure your students are! This is definitely a modern way to get students excited for their assignments and let their creativity shine!
@LNotorfrancesco@tompgavin I also will use Instagram! I think it is very useful to, especially for younger grades, incorporate tools they are familiar with in order to maximize success for the task that we are giving. Instagram can be a simple resource to use for many assignments!
@tompgavin I can use Instagram with my 1st graders to extend across cultures/connect with others. Instagram is a simple tool for younger students to use that they might already be familiar with. They can take their own pictures/videos and upload them, then comment on/like posts. #wuedt6020
@JDiaz003@tompgavin Hi Jerika! What a great idea! Differentiation for individuals/groups is so important for students, but in addition so is using adaptive learning to look at the entire class. I would love to adopt this myself so I can provide my students with the most opporutnies to grow.
@LNotorfrancesco@tompgavin Hi Lauren! I also will likely adopt gamification. I like your idea of a reward system for the games that you integrate. I do find that whenever we play games some students get upset when they don't win. It seems that this will show the importance of learning instead of winning!
@tompgavin I will likely adopt Gamification of Learning into my first grade classroom because my students love playing games. I will integrate this emerging trend into my classroom by creating games, like DeckToys, for some lessons in order for students to learn through playing. #wuedt6020
