Just installed: An exhibit at @JMUlibraries’ Carrier Library for the 100th anniversary of the founding of @TheBreezeJMU, the campus paper at @JMU. First edition was published December 2, 1922. Big thanks to Julia Merkel in Special Collections for making it possible.

After meeting with @JMUlibraries preservationist Julia Merkel on a potential @TheBreezeJMU collab for the paper’s 2022 centennial, I asked if I could see the 1st edition in the print archives. I had seen the digital version, but never the paper. Nothing beats the real thing!
Is it a coincidence that JMU purple and gold are...the suffragette colors? Two faculty are telling the story of women's rights at JMU in the early days through a historic clothing exhibit in Carrier until 4/11.
