@andybudd There’s an urban myth that they’re all descended from one pair of pet birds set free in Richmond Park a couple of decades ago. At least I think it’s a myth. 15 years ago we’d see the odd pair in SW London, they’re everywhere in London now.
@ryanrumsey Great thread. Based on my last 4 years in a VP role, and comparing with the Manager and Director roles I held before that, you've nailed it.
An excellent toolkit of soft-skills frameworks published by @trentonmoss100 today:

@mcleanonline@SamHarrisOrg Very good timing. Possible antidotes to the nihilism which might bloom in the empty space where free will used to be? Useful that Buddhism is mentioned - it’s in meditation that I’ve observed my mind doing its thing with zero need for my input.
@mcleanonline Finished. Extraordinary - it feels like the key to something I’ve been pondering one way or another for years.
Now it’s as if I’m facing a red pill vs blue pill moment. No way back from fully embracing this idea...
@berkun Yes. Since reading into Adler’s psychology via Koga and Kishimi I’ve experimented with this mantra at work as VP UX, and it has proved powerful:
1. The fallacy of "seat at the table" is often decisions are made before the table meets. I know this because much of my career was controlling tables.
The more people at any table, the more the real action goes elsewhere. Why? I'll tell you.
