We don’t have to know the plan to trust there is a plan. We don’t have to feel good to trust there is good coming. We don’t have to see evidence of change to trust that it won’t always be this hard.
Your feelings matter. Feelings are great indicators, but terrible drivers. If your feelings are driving your life, you’re in trouble. It’s good to take evaluation of this and readjust if needed.
Early Pentecostals began their readings of Scripture with the expectation that, in coming to the Scripture, they would encounter God. They believed their engagement with the text would form them in Christ. That’s a not a bad methodological starting point, if you ask me. :)
That hunger or thirst in us that can’t seem to be quenched? That’s our soul signaling we need to worship God. Really worship Him.
Worship God for who He is.
For what only He can do.
For what only He can be.
To be led by the Spirit of Truth, into "all truth" (John 16:13), implies by its very assertion, that we are being led "out of" the lies and falsehoods that have become our maps, coping mechanisms, and avoidance strategies in life. The Spirit sanctifies us one step at a time.
