@probert_david a no. of women from NI fought for ECR’s to @uclh for #mesh removal. We have been left in debilitating pain because of incomplete surgeries & appts being repeatedly cancelled. Could you please step in to rectify this or give onward ECR’s to a hospital that can!
If you're an NHS board doing this I can guarantee at some point you're going to end up dealing with a media enquiry from me when the 💩 hits the fan: https://t.co/95lIOB9rSu
@PSSDSimon @PSCommissioner@PSSDNetwork Clearly another patient safety issue that needs looked at - and which has not been audited properly in the scientific literature, just as with mesh
The PSC's team doesn't even have the capacity to support pelvic mesh, or the IMMDS's recommendations-they've told us outright they don't have the capacity to work on all of them.
The government should fund more staff for this office-the post can hardly be called a PSC at present
Conflicts of Interest in medicine: taking money from industry without telling anybody, poses a serious risk to research integrity & #patientsafety Its rife & has been a MASSIVE problem in healthcare for decades. It played a huge role in #mesh#primodos scandals @PSCommissioner
This week the Hewitt Review on the future of ICSs was published. I welcome the need to place the interests of patients and the public first. It’s clear that there are examples of great practice in listening to and acting on the voi…https://t.co/SElHpQUBQQ https://t.co/SCTquxRhiV
One of the 9 First Do No Harm recommendations was financial redress delivered using a non-adversarial process. NHS Resolution is NOT the answer as it’s a litigious process that’s stressful & relies on women proving blame @mariacaulfield@PSCommissioner @EmmaHardyMP @APPGFDNH
Thanks @mariacaulfield for meeting with #mesh campaigners today to discuss how to improve specialist mesh centres & tackling financial redress to improve the lives of women whose health has been irreversibly harmed @EmmaHardyMP
@chrisharding123 @MRvanBalken @Bekkenbodem4All @Uroweb@EauPatient@WFIP_Official Many are prepared to speak - however, were not invited
I recall an RCOG conference in which a woman gave a patient’s perspective on Mesh yet she wasn’t even implanted with Mesh
When I queried this, I was told she learnt by looking at my social media posts - how offensive
Terrible that women in NI @SlingtheMeshNI must get permission from their #mesh implanting surgeon to be seen in one of the 10 Specialist Removal centres in England or Scotland. Unsurprisingly many face a mighty battle @EmmaHardyMP https://t.co/5c9KtnLYip
@MeshCampaign@SlingtheMeshNI @EmmaHardyMP I'm sorry, what the actual fuck? Shall we now ask that women gain permission from their abusers to proceed to the CPS?
Yes and it made damn all difference. Besides, you guys only started letting patients report to the yellow card system as a result of a BBC investigation - the MHRA is about the least patient-facing medical org in the UK.
@InjuredMesh The Great and the Good in Scotland can sound like they're still living in 2011, "don't believe these irrational accounts on the internet". In reality, since the rise of social media, it's too hard to play down excess harm from e.g. Essure and mesh as accounts are so numerous.
