Nine of my videos got copyright struck this week, including one with 1.2 million views. Turns out the fastest way to get noticed by Nintendo is to make their games look fun again.
Here's my takeaway:
It’s their IP and protecting it is their job, so I’m not mad. What I keep thinking about is why almost two million people watched those clips in the first place.
The big one was Pokémon Snap with James Bond as the player instead of a photographer. Others had Smash characters fighting inside Mario 64. I built every one of them in my evenings after work, mostly late at night, and it’s been a blast. Over a million people stopped scrolling to watch a game from 1999 do something it was never meant to do.
People don't play mods because they want free stuff. They play them because they miss the feeling of a game that surprises them. That feeling used to be normal.
Too many games today are made by people who don't play them, for a community they don't respect. Studios spend hundreds of millions on remakes instead of innovation, and players can feel the difference.
My mods are the experiences I always wanted. They add multiplayer and run on your browser, and they’re for people who legally own the games. A few years ago that would have taken a whole team. Now one person can do it, which means the people who love games are inevitably about to start making them again. The ambition is still out there. It just isn't inside most big studios anymore.
Next I’m making original games, and a place where developers can make games together. I’ll show how I build each one so you can build yours too. Inspiration is infinitely renewable, and I’m nowhere near running out.
Follow along if you want to build with me.

He asked an AI agent to make him money and it did. We're still early on agents. And if Bitcoin taught me anything, it's this:
The top is when your plumber tells you to buy a Grok Bot subscription.
I asked an AI agent to make me money. It did.
This is one of the best videos I've ever made. I rarely post my YT videos here to X unless I am especially proud of them.
This is a rare one. YT link is in the comments if that's your preference.
Whisk3D is an engine built around an abstraction layer. You can have it running on Symbian, Windows, Linux, Android, and more. You open a W3D file with it, and that same file works on ALL platforms. You make the game once, and it runs everywhere. THAT is the idea
@sellingshovels Halo: CE and Perfect Dark crossover. Both games running at the same time, like I did with Spartan 64. I need a title... Perfect Evolved? Combat Dark?
@msankofam Group chats, honestly. And if it's Fair Use, there's no reason a platform would take them down on their own. They just decide to act when it lands on their radar.
Not going to talk about any of the mods I’m working on except for the ones friendlier to posting clips on X. Even my memes got taken down.
One day, suddenly, the games are going to drop on GitHub and take the internet by storm.
Ponytail is a great plugin. You just have to picture this guy as the one doing your task. Would you hand him your most ambitious creative work? No. You'd tell him to fix the CSS and go home.
