@matt_pulsipher@PaulStoffregen Can it do this for non-computer HDMI sources with HDCP? I want that so bad. Seems straightforward enough in theory but I’ve never seen a media HDMI switcher that doesn’t trigger re-sync, even the so called seamless ones.
8/11/2024 3:30pm - Truckee Fire, @CALFIRENEU, USFS TNF, Olympic Valley Fire, North Lake Tahoe Fire, Northstar Fire, North Tahoe Fire, Truckee Police are on scene of a vegetation fire behind the Safeway Shopping Center in Truckee.
This @sfchronicle coverage of that horrible Cruise-pedestrian accident on Oct 2 is really frustrating. This is not how it works:

PSA: Never park a Tesla on any kind of incline in snow or ice. The parking brake only holds the rear wheels and that might not be enough (unlike an AWD or FWD ICE car where the transmission is also holding the front wheels).
Here’s a cute scam. Send a PayPal payment request that pretends to be helping dispute a previous payment to a tea company, none of which happened. @AskPayPal can you block this?
I think this is the funniest clickwrap/EULA I've seen. Not "I agree to <unintelligible>" or "I understand <unintelligible>" but "I confirm I've been given enough time to understand <unintelligible>". (Yes, you gave me unbounded time to read it. No, I didn't read it.)
@rhs@danluu We seem to love to beat software engineering up over this, but other engineering domains that ostensibly try harder (say building a bridge, designing a new aircraft), even remodeling a house, seem like they play out similarly.
@rhs@danluu Maybe not impossible but definitely hard and: not something that (seems required; you’re rewarded for doing right; you’re punished for not doing right), so why bother with the hard work. Maybe not even always a good idea (could lead to premature optimization or overbuilding).
@adman_c Yeah I had no idea that was a thing. Found it by accident while writing this and trying to figure out when the old well-working variant was removed. Which is hard to figure out because Sonos still considers it “supported”.
@adman_c I mean I used to have the hardware controllers, which they stopped making, but at the time that was fine because the phone app (with Lock Screen integration) was a fully adequate replacement. Which isn’t true at all without Lock Screen integration.
@Northstar_CA it’s not great to have completely online ordering at Zephyr Lodge and also the online system is down and nobody can order food. Free hot chocolate for everybody please?
