@Aristos_Revenge Restore's position is that we should scare the hoes. Like if Tony Blair had gone into the '97 election promising uncontrolled migration, gay sex at 16, and the smoking ban (rather than just playing the moderate and enacting all of this once he won power).
@Aristos_Revenge If you leave the personality clash between Farage and Lowe aside, the actual issue is about messaging. Reform are taking the traditional approach of softening their rhetoric to broaden their appeal ahead of the next election. Restore are campaigning on mass deportations.
People are very tired of this sort of disingenuous whataboutery — we all know that South Asian cultures have kinship based loyalties that often supersede the rule of law. Of course it’s about immigration and integration, stop insulting our intelligence.
He is hiding behind a bereaved father’s perfectly human wish for the nightmare to stop.
For all their pieties about mental health, they seem perfectly happy to parade a traumatised father’s words, spoken from the darkest place imaginable, as a moral judgment on the rest of us.
@AscendedYield You can see this by looking at Judicial sentencing remarks. Rape or sexual images of kids and it's 'I can see you're a good lad deep down.' Anything with a hint of racism (real or imagined) and it's 'the seriousness of this offence warrants a serious sentence.'
@anglofuturist Can't get over the brother (or Dad) telling the police he hadn't been stabbed. The sheer third-world brain required to think that you can somehow scam your way out if this, even if it means an innocent person dies...
@t848m0 Agree, Reform have a chance to nullify the only semi-credible Labour politician in the country. The fact they're going to try and block them just shows how unserious they are.
@t848m0 If he loses Makerfield he becomes the guy who agitated for a seat, then lost it to Reform. The idea that we'll have a Labour MP standing down every few weeks until he finally wins one is nonsense.
@Laocailarry@t848m0 Would Cameron have let Boris stand in a by-election when the Tories were lagging in the polls in 2012? Would he fuck! It’s inexplicable.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I can't help but feel like this situation is a bit reminiscent of when half of Brown's cabinet resigned after the 2009 Locals and he just refused to go...
@t848m0 Burnham is probably the best bet for them, he might be able to pull the old ‘Pedro Sanchez’ (good enough to win enough seats to block the RW parties). Policy-wise they are fucked though.
But Gabriel gets to clatter and block the goalkeeper every set piece and game.
Bullshit. Rigged league. PGMOL title.
Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting league. Fucking bullshit.
@realhansard They’re content to become a Lib Dem-like party. Uncompetitive in most of the country, but capable of winning in affluent, non-bohemian areas.
