Only 83….let that soak in. 😞

Happy Birthday to Emmett Till. He would've been 83 years old today.

At just 14, two white men kidnapped and brutally murdered him through mutilation for 'whistling' at a white woman.
decades later, Carolyn Bryant admitted to lying that Emmett Till made a pass at her.

The MOST fun I have ever had teaching summer school. The gags, the giggles, the learning, the fun. Owl pellet dissection day. #sjsdproud #pershingpanthers

The Lafayette Fighting Irish Basketball team (@bballstjoe) will only have two athletes returning who had minutes in their final four run last season.

Despite not having as much experience on the varsity level come this season, the raw talent is abundant.

A perfect week for readers theatre. Love seeing these actors being a character life while practicing our fluency. So impressed with these Panthers. 💚#sjsdproud

@jeffreytucker I guess I wonder why does it matter about another persons choice? Why are we so worried about what someone decides is right or wrong for THEM?

This week we read our common lit resource provided by the amazing @SJSDCurriculum tagged resources and became paleontologists. The best uncovered “fossil” wins. So much fun. Look at my little paleontologists. 💚🎉 #sjsdproud

Look at this sea of green! Our first green Friday was better than I ever dreamt. A huge thanks to our Touchdown club and @LHSIrish counselor Emily Sumner for the donated shirts. Raising them right…💚#sjsdproud

Establishing small group norms and watching collaborative thinking amongst classmates and friends. Discussing school wide expectations but so much more is taking place. I I love them already. #sjsdproud #pershingpanther

What an amazing night of donations pouring in for these student athletes. Henry stole the night by donating his winnings back to the teams. So many good people. We could not be more grateful. 💚❤️

@PemHillSchool

Last Tuesday our tennis team found they had all their equipment stolen. Last night we were able to conduct a 50-50 raffle. your Sweet student, Henry Holton, had the winning ticket. He graciously donated his winnings back to use. We are so proud of him.

This week we took a deep dive into the world of poetry. objective: find a poem you connect with and share it . As I watched my kids present I thought “wow! They are readers, self assured, full of expression readers.” My heart was full. #atthebergh #makeadifference #sjsdproud

4th grade flyers took some time to watch the best of the Northside. The Queen presentation showed the fun and importance of getting involved. They loved the advice and thought every candidate was a princess. What great models for our future Irish. #atthebergh #makeadifference

If you are safe, respectful, or responsible, let’s party. An epic and unforgettable snow ball fight followed by cooling off with a popsicle. Flyers, we see you doing your job everyday and we appreciate YOU. Keep up the good work. #atthebergh #MakeADifference #sjsdproud
