Sóbrii estóte, et vigiláte: quia adversárius vester diábolus tamquam LEO rúgiens círcuit, quærens quem dévoret: cui resístite fortes in fide: sciéntes eámdem passiónem ei, quæ in mundo est, vestræ fraternitáti fíeri
Either everyone is a way faster reader than me or a lot of people have been posting about Magnifica Humanitas (154 pages and released today) without actually reading it. I just finished. Very solid. I might write a long review at some point but here is a very short one. Leo approached the subject from a strongly Trinitarian and Catholic perspective. He reaffirmed the Catholic world view of humanity, and gave some great guidelines for the use and development of AI. A lot of focus was on protection of policy, human rights and human connection.
His discussion on war and the use of AI was particularly helpful.
Hopefully the world will listen.
@winterclaw42@Nance726@poperespecter1 The Vatican Council teaches that whenever there is a Pope, he is always a successor of St. Peter, not that there will be a Pope at every moment. The Papacy was vacant numerous times when one Pope died, and before the next Pope was elected. https://t.co/fiQ3EsW3E1
@ChristMasculine@Nance726@poperespecter1 The Holy See of St. Peter was vacant numerous times when one Pope died, and before the next Pope was elected. If it was so vital to have a Pope all the time, the Apostles could have made it a part of the Tradition that a Pope should appoint a successor when he was alive.
Those who claim to be "Catholic", meditate on this: Are you really professing the same faith as those you recognize as "priests", "bishops", and "Popes"? Do you truly believe you can still be Catholic when you worship pagan idols, endorse abortion, and homosexual "marriage"?
What a bunch of PATHETIC LIARS! It is NEVER a Sedevacantist claim that "those who hold the highest offices do not truly possess the authority" because heretics can't hold the offices in the first place. And of course, the Church can survive anyhow, as our Lord promised (Mt 16:18)
The @SSPXEN have distanced themselves from sedevacantist positions, with the official news outlet publishing a talk against the stance.
@FSSPXFR -- “In light of the doctrinal deviations observed since the Second Vatican Council among a large portion of the ecclesiastical hierarchy, certain so-called “sedevacantist” movements — unaffiliated with the FSSPX — recklessly assert that the Church could survive without a pope and that those who hold the highest offices do not truly possess the authority they claim.”
@CaucasusForever@Orthodoxsigma14@poperespecter1 Cann 1098 says if a priest cannot be present in a month, marriage can be validly contracted "in the presence only of witnesses." Catholics are also not obligated to attend Mass when there is no Mass available. The Church is always visible in the profession of the true Faith.
@CaucasusForever@Orthodoxsigma14@poperespecter1 I don't know everything, but Christ does not preclude the possibility that there will be no Catholic in the end times (Luke 18:8). The Sacraments are instituted in a manner that Baptism, the most necessary one for salvation can be administered by every one, not just priests.
@Orthodoxsigma14@poperespecter1 I am Catholic, nothing more, nothing less. Do I know there has been no Pope since the death of Pope Pius XII? Yes, based on the Roman Catechism and many other teachings of the Church. Does that make me a Sedevecantist? Probably, but I don't care. All I want is to be Catholic.
@CruxAstraPub According to the Roman Catechism, heretics, like Robert Prevost, are not members of the Holy Catholic Church. They naturally cannot hold any office in the Church: https://t.co/4cOt4IXBac
@FTrent27 Rebellion is an act against someone in power. I know that the heretical Vatican II church and its "authority" have no power before Christ and His Holy Church.
