I went to school with Muad and am SO EXCITED to see him run! We had 10 classes together - his heart was always in the right place & he always pulled his weight on team projects.
I have no doubt that if elected, he’ll put in the work & fight for people over all else #Hrezi2022
That NYT front page names only 1% of the Americans who have died from Covid-19. I found that a bit difficult to grasp, so I copy/pasted it 100 times to get a sense of scale. The first image below is what it would look like if you could see all 100,000 names.
Tomorrow's front page #NamingTheLost.
If our leaders fail to create a space for mourning, it's up to we the people to step up. Join tomorrow's mass call at 8 PM ET - details pinned to @namingthelost
We may be physically alone, but we do not have to be alone in our grief. #NamingtheLost is a 24 hour vigil to read the names of many who have died from the coronavirus. Join the livestream to mourn with us and honor those who have died.
Everyone is essential. The people who’ve died from COVID-19 are our sisters and brothers, our parents and grandparents, our nurses and grocery clerks, our first responders and teachers. Every one has a name.
On May 20-21 we’re honoring + #NamingTheLost -> https://t.co/Fjm0q89hy7
A country that doesn’t mourn its dead is a country that doesn’t care for its people. Be part of a special 24 hour memorial to remember and mourn those we’ve lost #NamingtheLost https://t.co/oHAugdcnBK
We need to grieve the lives taken by #COVID19.
We are more than a hotspot in Wayne County. Communities, especially the African American community, have been devastated. Many of our cornerstones are gone.
We need to say their names.
Join the #NamingTheLost vigil tomorrow. ⬇️
With Wisconsin forging ahead with their election, re-upping:
Thousands of poll workers and clerks set to work tomorrow are older. Some have health issues. Some are high risk. Some don't have health insurance. Many are older.
"I'm scared," one told me.

The spread of coronavirus is accelerated by every inequity and crack in our society—by lack of health care, lack of child care, crowded housing, lack of savings. All of these things disproportionately harm African-Americans. And today, in Wisconsin, add: lack of polling places.
A voter contacted a campaign in Milwaukee, and said “I need a witness for my absentee ballot, and I have coronavirus.”
We are literally sitting here trying to figure out how to find somebody who had it, so they can go witness the signature, and get the ballot.
This is insane.
.@congressmanraja Will you vote in support of the resolution to protect people w/ #preexistingconditions? Now that the Trump administration is refusing to #defendtheACA in court, it is up to you to ensure that millions have the care they need to survive
@ianchillag I'm in love w/ Everything is Alive, its my fav new pod & have rec'd it to everyone but what abt Mel the Mousetrap? That's the episode I was most excited about
Just now, the American Public Health Association passed a statement naming police violence as a public health issue & recommending divestment from police and investment in community-based & -led solutions. This is huge. Read the statement here:

Lastly, #policeviolence is a literal and metaphorical chokehold on bodies of color, evident in the choking death of eric garner and the later death of his daughter, one killed by #policeviolence, the other likely by the stress of speaking against it https://t.co/XHYgGd9Lfm 6/
