@kelvmackenzie Your reasoning (not surprising) is wrong. Looks like you are referring to inheritance tax which never gets charged until the donor dies and only then if the estate is valued over the IHT threshold. So not every gift would be taxed. Some simple tax planning would avoid this.

DUP refused a deal in Feb 2018 at the last moment around Irish language (local issue).The current collapse is nothing to do with an issue that can be resolved locally.
