This #EarthDay let’s not forget there’s a 70 yr old pipeline running through the heart of the #GreatLakes which hold 80% of North America’s freshwater. Line 5 is an ecological disaster in the making. Analysis shows we do not need Line 5 for our energy needs. Art: @IsaacMurdoch1

Donald Trump claims his desire for Canada to become the 51st state is real.
Canada has already spoken and their answer is for Trump to go fuck himself.

Starting today and until U.S. tariffs are removed, Ontario is banning American companies from provincial contracts.
Every year, the Ontario government and its agencies spend $30 billion on procurement, alongside our $200 billion plan to build Ontario. U.S.-based businesses will now lose out on tens of billions of dollars in new revenues. They only have President Trump to blame.
We’re going one step further. We’ll be ripping up the province’s contract with Starlink. Ontario won’t do business with people hellbent on destroying our economy.
Canada didn't start this fight with the U.S., but you better believe we're ready to win it.
Trump’s unilateral decision to impose a 25% tariff on Canada and Mexico is most likely illegal and most definitely harmful.
Economists estimate that these will increase costs for the average American family by as much as $1,200 a year.
We need to drive prices DOWN, not UP.
Canadians have been nothing but the strongest allies and the best neighbours to the United States.
These tariffs are completely unjustifiable, and Canadians are united in the face of this economic threat.
Canada will not back down.
President-elect Trump’s comments show a complete lack of understanding of what makes Canada a strong country.
Our economy is strong.
Our people are strong.
We will never back down in the face of threats.
There isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell that Canada would become part of the United States.
Workers and communities in both our countries benefit from being each other’s biggest trading and security partner.

The National Gathering on Unmarked Burials and the release of the reparations framework was both a solemn reminder of the horrors faced by Indigenous children stolen from their families and of the strength and resilience of our Nations. We honour all children and survivors.
A final report released Tuesday regarding the ongoing investigation into residential school grave sites across Canada, led by Special Interlocutor Kimberly Murray. The report calls for a 20-year Indigenous-led commission, new laws to protect burial sites, and justice for families who never knew what happened to their children. Countless communities continue searching for unmarked graves using ground-penetrating radar.
Residential school denialists are willfully inciting hate and retraumatizing survivors.
Today I invited the Prime Minister to read the Criminal Code. Inciting hate is not a form of free speech!
