"Energy dominance" agenda:
-50% copper tariff
-Steel & aluminum tariff
-Restrictive FEOC for new power plants
-$15bn of US gas turbines to Saudis
-Punitive tax treatment for solar/wind
-Offshore wind moratorium
-New coal subsidy
Prices exceeded $4,000 across all of ERCOT tonight.
While gross load is under 60 GW, net load is the highest its been in the past 30 days due to low and falling wind output and sunset.
With thermal outages over 20 GW+, the system is quite tight.
@adamhchase A canoe! My friends did this a few years ago and had a blast. They then took it all the way down the Missouri and Mississippi river. I bet y’all could integrate it into Jet lag some how! 😊
#ERCOT now showing an 80 gigawatt peak Monday morning. All time Jan. record is <66GW. For now, ERCOT forecasts plenty of spare capacity. I don't currently anticipate problems but I'd feel a lot better if we had increased energy efficiency the last few years. #txlege#txenergy
No word from @txrrc 's new Critical Infrastructure Division on gas supply chain failures due to extreme heat. But TCEQ's air emissions report database has recorded a gas compressor station down due to high temps. 🔥

Ok here's the deal. I'm going to India on Tuesday to do a marriage ceremony my grandparents can attend
We're currently at 995k YT subs. If we hit 1 million before Tues I'll do the full show on my return in full Indian dress garb AND sneakers

Turns out natural gas, coal and nuclear-powered electricity aren’t all that reliable. The future of the Texas grid requires a mix and new technologies are a big part of the answer. FREE link: https://t.co/A9IiUXQMwn @HoustonChron#txlege
At this hour, there are 10,400 megawatts of gas & coal power plants offline. Hopefully, the plant operators are just getting them ready for the heat next week, but this level of thermal plant outages is nearing the extreme level (11,200MW) by ERCOT's definition. #txlege#txenergy
Still no disaster declaration from Gov Abbott for East Texas even though there are ~300,000 Texans still without power in a heat wave. Full restoration not expected until Friday. No press coverage at all outside of ETX. It's like a major hurricane hit and no one noticed. #txlege
