We’re posting all data from BTC, ETH, SOL, and 15+ other chains realtime on @eigen_da now to showcase our newly upgraded 15+MB/s network throughput.
@eigen_da is the only horizontally scalable solution in all of crypto - and we are marching forward in our quest to enable completely new applications, scale the decentralized world, and convert cloud to crypto.
🚀 Breaking news: All Chains Fit on EigenDA!
------------
@eigen_da mainnet is now processing 15+ MB/second (120Mbps), and we are posting ALL raw block data from 15+ chains simultaneously.
------------
L1s: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Celo, Celestia, Avalanche, BNB chain, Fantom.
L2s: Polygon, Mantle, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, XAI games, Blast, Scroll, ZKSync, Mode, Taiko.
------------
The *only* fully horizontally scalable system in crypto.

It's been a blast working with @michaelgwee and the rest of the @eigen_da engineering team––seriously strong people working on a seriously solid product. Looking forward to continued collaborations!
Introducing 16mb Blobs on EigenDA: Available exclusively for a limited time through @conduitxyz
EigenDA's maximum blob size has been increased from 2mb to 16mb, enabling rollup sequencers to go longer between DA dispersals and reducing rollup operation costs by 8x.
The idea for larger blobs originated in a collaboration with @conduitxyz, where it was determined that by increasing the maximum blob size we could reduce gas cost and increase DA throughput for rollup customers.
Where do the gas savings come from?
The core loop of an EigenDA rollup sequencer goes like this:
1. Post a batch of transactions to EigenDA and get a DA certificate in response.
2. Post that DA certificate to the rollup inbox on Ethereum, paying some gas.
The sequencer repeats this process as frequently as necessary to keep up with the rollup's usage. Whenever the transaction buffer fills up, it gets flushed to DA.
The problem: It costs ~$3 to post a DA certificate to Ethereum calldata. If a rollup is posting a DA certificate to Ethereum every 2 minutes this adds up to ~$2200 in daily gas costs!
Fortunately, there is a solution: larger blobs. Starting today EigenDA's maximum blob size has been increased from 2MB to 16MB so that sequencers can go longer between DA dispersals, reducing a rollup's gas costs by 8x. In the example above, the same rollup using 16mb blobs would save $1920 a day in gas.

We're proud to be partnering with @conduitxyz to bring larger blobs to rollup teams around the world, starting with pilot customer @Donatuz_! EigenDA scales Ethereum today.
Origin of EigenDA (@eigen_da) - A Retrospective
In this thread, I will present the story of our journey to build EigenDA from a personal vantage point. This story will lay out our longstanding interest in scaling network bandwidth as well as offer some inside anecdotes.
Everything you need to know about @eigencloud in 4 mins ✨
I dive into:
• Verifiable SaaS
• Evolution of blockchains
• Traditional developer platforms
• EigenLayer as a developer platform
• Why the above struck a chord with me
I hope you enjoy (& learn something)!
The timing worked out perfectly for me to add my small part to the QT lore chain: I met @yangl1996 in person for the first time tonight. True story.
On a more serious note, the first time I was on a call with Lei, our teams were meeting to discuss the engineering work required for @eigen_da to support @megaeth’s ambitious peak throughput requirements of 100k TPS.
This is where I got to observe the 100x engineering brilliance firsthand. Without meeting with us beforehand, Lei had already thought through all the possible paths forward that we had considered, and had strong opinions on the best one, with candidate designs in mind.
He was not worried about certain integration points because “it’s open source, we can fix it”. Moreover he had already spun up a local test @eigen_da instance on devnet, fixed some bugs, pushed 3000 blobs per minute, and was “pretty amazed by its potential”. He said that “the code is good” (game recognize game I guess) and clearly articulated some potential bottlenecks.
All during the very first meeting with us. Moreover, he is thoughtful, precise, approachable, and great fun to work with.
Looking forward to continued collaboration going forward!
Working with @sreeramkannan for the past 6 years has been such a privilege and a thrilling intellectual experience. Cannot wait for the many more years to come! @eigencloud ♾️ @megaeth
Sreeram and I met in person for the first time at Stanford Blockchain Conference (SBC) in 2020 when we had already been collaborating on Trifecta and its prototype implementation for 1.5 years along with @dntse, @viswanathpramod, and my advisor Mohammad. On the last day of the conference, we were casually chatting outside of the venue and somehow the conversation converged to an idea to decouple data availability from consensus using Verifiable Information Dispersal (VID). That conversation kicked off the line of work that would define my collaboration with Sreeram as well as my PhD thesis.
Working with Sreeram has two distinct features: high throughput and low latency—by that I describe the exchange and refinement of ideas. It is intense, efficient, and full of imagination.
In spring 2022 I went to Seattle to present the aforementioned work at NSDI (an academic conference), and had a chance to visit Eigen Labs (still called Layr Labs at that point) and meet the founding team. Sreeram described to me the vision of EigenLayer and I was instantly hooked. Towards the end, Sreeram asked me a question: what does it take to build an optimally fast EVM? I didn’t have an answer that I was satisfied with, but believed the problem to be solvable with rigorous performance analysis and engineering. After @eigen_da eliminated the bottleneck on DA and when @yilongl_megaeth reached out early 2023 with the idea of MegaETH, I knew it’s time.
Cannot be more excited to continue working with Sreeram and the amazing team at Eigen!
