Working on project 5/52: a universal transit app for @Pebble
it pulls & caches the local schedules from https://t.co/P3W27OBNWO and finds the nearest departures.
You can then pin your train to your timeline so you don’t miss it.
It should work in most cities!
@DanielLurie There were ~20 people doing drugs on my street this afternoon less than a block from a school.
I was lucky enough to pass a cop car, they agreed to pass through my street and run their lights, which scared them off.
Surely there are enough cops to do this regularly
@DanielLurie@SFPD@DanielLurie Excited to see you’re reading these!
Unfortunately these issue are not limited to late night hours and BART stations. These were taken just now as I’m walking my dog down 15th st toward Dolores.
What specifically is being done about drug trafficking into SF?
@DanielLurie Again, not in my neighborhood. This is from 5 minutes ago. This encampment has been there for 3 weeks now and has a loose dog.
Also you should check Reddit and read the comments. Active drug dealing all over mission these days.
@DanielLurie I’ll be responding to every post you make on all channels with photos from the mission until we see real change.
I understand this is a challenging problem, but if the city can take time to post a graffiti notice on my door, they can take the time to deal with this.
@DanielLurie I’m not sure about other neighborhoods, but it’s gotten measurably worse in the Mission.
The working families in this city deserve clean and safe streets as much as any other district. Enforcement should be applied uniformly across the city, not one district at a time.
@DanielLurie@DanielLurie multiple encampments and active drug use on shotwell. The first encampment has been there for two weeks. We’ve reported it 3 times.
@DanielLurie we’re about one week into the RESET center initiative, I’ll be tracking progress and sharing photos of the drug abuse in Mission each week until things improve.
This weekend it seems to have only increased.
@DanielLurie@JackieFielder_ The mission is home to much of the working class in this city. They work long hours to provide the services that keep this city alive, they deserve to clean and safe streets just as much as tech workers living in high rises or Richmond homes.
@DanielLurie@JackieFielder_ Instead, we were left a notice to take down the graffiti left by the very people we’d been begging for help dealing with for years!
How do we interpret that as anything but a slap in the face??
Not only are you doing nothing, you’re holding US responsible for THEIR actions!
@philchacko@jasminewsun I’ve come to believe that “A permanent underclass” is fundamentally impossible.
Anytime when wealth, power, and the means of production has over consolidated, it did not end well for the people at the top.
At best you get a relatively brief, very upset underclass.
