I remember having dinner with my stepmother-in-law days before she was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

Over dinner, she asked me about a tough job situation.

I was trying to keep it inside, but somehow, she knew there was something deeper.

She was such an attentive communicator.

With such wisdom, she gently offered, “The only constant in life is change; you never know what's around the corner.”

It’s wild to think about it.

I'd heard that cliche a hundred times.

But somehow, after she passed, those words stuck with me.

I'm grateful for her wise reminder… because it wasn't always “convenient” to answer a call or make travel plans while living hundreds of miles from family.

I'm just keeping it real.

But here I am today.

Looking back and remembering her words saved me so much anguish.

Because whether life is perfect for you right now or not, change is inevitable.

That's life.

It can change in an instant.

We must take the good with the bad.

And I want you to have more good than bad.

So, as you face whatever life brings you, let this wisdom guide you.

The only constant in life is change; you never know what's around the corner.
