@dr_cellini Sometimes if you try just using goodrx without even using your insurance, it’s less expensive. My medication was $120 with insurance, $88 with goodrx and no insurance! Ridiculous though honestly
@olsonplanner Notes and managing the inbox! My husband works a 24 hour call shift (8a-8a), comes home at 9a, sleeps til 3p, and then does notes and manages his inbox all night. He is “off” on the day after call shifts. On regular days, he works 8-5 and then comes home and does notes til 8p.
@babieswithb I am an SLP. Yes this has been debunked :) Sign language and ACC actually help verbal language develop. Kids will communicate with whatever method is easier for them at any given time. At first, it’s their hands. As their mouth develops, verbal language becomes the easiest.
🧵🚨 1. Of all the deceptive sales techniques the U.S. government has used on the American people, one of them—the Social Security Act—gets far too little attention. Buckle up because this is a wild ride.
@stillhaveavoice@Rothmus All of this took away time that could have been spent serving dine-in customers in my section. I agree tipping 20% is outrageous, but I do tip a few dollars to account for time taken away from their other customers.
The $22,000 X-Ray
Same machine.
Same technician training.
Same results.
But the price tag magically multiplies when you walk through those sliding glass doors with the big health system name on top.
Not by a little.
By five times.
Sometimes ten.
This isn't economics.
It's alchemy.
We're told that health systems need more money because they're... health systems.
They're bigger.
More important.
Special.
But that's not a story based on value quality or outcomes. It's a story written by the people who profit from it.
Here's what they don't want you to see:
The small practice in your neighborhood,
the one where Dr. Chen knows your name?
She's delivering the same care.
Often better care.
For a fraction of the price.
But the rules aren't written for Dr. Chen.
The rules are written by lobbyists in government boardrooms who've never set a broken arm or called a patient at home to check on their recovery.
Lobbyist who see healthcare dollars as a trade for more power and where more favors always equals more money.
This isn't about complex policy.
It's about power.
And power,
left unchecked,
does what power always does: It takes more.
The question isn't whether this system is broken. The question is:
How long will we keep pretending it isn't?
Your wallet knows the truth.
So does every independent medical practice fighting to keep their doors open.
We have a choice.
We can accept the story we're told
or demand a new one.
What story will you choose?
