@joshgnosis Mobile Myki requires NFC Host Card Emulation, which Apple doesn't allow 3rd parties to access.
In short, Myki took the cheap and easy (for them) option to roll out mobile payments (HCE), instead of the standard option, which Melbourne PT users will now have to suffer through. ๐
@joshgnosis Translink (Brisbane) are also rolling out CC payments for Go card (Cubic Nextfare), but are replacing readers to support it. Older readers probably lack certifications (PCI, etc.) or is otherwise harder to extend.

@LapTop006@yaakov_h While a build of Inkscape for macOS x86_64 is available (required for Catalina), it's incredibly slow on my machine (Intel GPU). I'd also need to export PNG files anyway for the video mixers and ffmpeg.
@shipw@hackuador@yaakov_h The 2010 QLD license is at least ISO 7816-1 through 7816-4 compliant. The 2019 version seems to eschew the contact interface in favor of contactless โ presumably ISO 14443A. Note that you can be a "proprietary application" and still be ISO 7816-4 "compliant" (eg: DESFire).
@hackuador@spidie What happens when $cloud's HTTPS LB enforces stronger cipher selection and none are supported by some IoT controller? Sure, they can switch to TCP LB and do their own TLS termination, but there's cost and maintenance overheads in doing that.
@Foone When I got it, only one of the PSUs worked. The stock PSU was ATX, and the little red button is to cancel the PSU alarm. Mine came with no motherboard, drive bays, or other components.
The case has tiny (~3cm diameter) plastic wheels โ I broke mine pushing it in a car park.
@Foone I have one of these cases, but it has modern components in it (but damaged from years of carting it to LAN parties). It was always funny being blamed for "hogging all the power" on the basis that power consumption correlated with the size of the case.
@flukejones@Erstejahre The one posted earlier in the thread looks like much better condition. IIRC mine has an i5 in it, but has had at least three other boards go through it. Stock (redundant) PSU died years ago, case has been damaged by years of lugging to LAN parties.
Another great way to help is to move into the electorate of some of these privacy-eroding MPs, and vote them out. Doing it from a moderate or progressive electorate removes those voices from major party rooms. #lca2020
@Erstejahre@yaakov_h@chrisjrn Never mind politicians (and parties), who continue to be exempt from the Privacy Act, and definitely haven't leaked PII for personal gain. #lca2020 https://t.co/tUJaYED5kb
@Erstejahre I need to dig up my ISO7816-4 iteration code again (I don't use it in Metrodroid normally because it's extremely slow, and doesn't work for all cards).
On digital IDs โ Queensland driver licenses issued from 2010 have an ISO7816 contact interface, and from 2019 changed to a contactless interface. I wonder what's inside... ๐ค #lca2020
