@bendee983 It's been classified incorrectly from the start. It's neither a science, nor an engineering discipline.
Should have always been under mathematics.
The difference is Tesla had an actual product, with positive gross margins, in demand. They just needed to build out the infra to supply the demand.
In this case I'm not sure what product SpaceX can sell to bring in enough revenue to justify 2-3T market cap. Starlink won't be enough. There are no advertisers on the social media app. The AI story is way too vague. And their robots barely work.
I'm not opposed to "overvalued" companies if there's a story regarding future cash flows. But what even is the story in this case?
@staysaasy Before discussing the plan, I discuss the prompt itself - I ask it to help clarify my thinking, uncover hidden assumptions, and restate what it thinks I actually want. It almost always results in a more robust plan
@tekbog If you've never stressed about a variable name then you've likely never operated on a sufficiently large, shared, codebase that other people depend on
Canada joins its partners in expressing concern about the death penalty law passed by the Israeli Knesset that, in practice, systematically targets Palestinians.
Based on the comments made by jensen, and the way it's explained on their site, it's predicting better lighting/shadows based on existing geometry, light sources, and assets. In the examples shown, I don't see evidence of different bump/specular/normal mapping, or completely new (hallucinated) things.
The reason the original lacks the detail is not due to artistic direction - it's because they literally don't have the compute to render those extra details so they smooth it over with aliasing. The AI lets you predict those features with much less compute.
This is NOT some AI slop filter added in a post-processing step.
The only valid criticism at this stage is that it does have that overblown "HDR" look, and sometimes color grading is not consistent, but this may just be a matter of tuning.
Either way, it's silly to levy this level of outrage before the tech is even released.
@pando_guillermo@NikTek@Aldain_zero what do you mean by "underlying model is the same"? the model is nothing like the AI image generators people are thinking of..
@NikTek@Aldain_zero It's not a matter of wording. The technology is fundamentally different from an "AI filter" you might apply to a raw image/video.
If you're saying that no AI should be used at all then all versions of DLSS are slop
