I'm so sick of doing business with subcons, man. Every transaction is painful. The can't speak intelligible English, you cannot just buy something without having to fend off an attempt to upsell, they never take no for an answer, they rarely actually know anything useful about the service they're providing or the product they're selling. Every single interaction becomes a tortuous maze of anxiety and frustration.

The worst part about it is that it makes us, of necessity, into jerks, because the only way to manage these people is by being an asshole. You have to assume incompetence and deceptiveness, and go in prepared to argue with and browbeat them. You can't be nice to them, because they'll take advantage of that. This is not good for us. We strongly prefer to be polite, because our social instincts are calibrated for honesty and competence. Dealing with low-trust imbeciles all day brutalizes the white soul.

American AI companies all hire foreigners and clearly they are leaking the model weights back to China and Lord knows who else. Hiring foreigners at American AI companies is a massive national security issue. H1B's are a national security issue.
