Interrogé à la suite de sa capture, l'homme révèle avoir été approché en dehors de la République démocratique du #Congo sous de fausses promesses : « Je suis #Rwandais . J'étais au #Kenya et on nous a rassemblés, nous les jeunes, en nous promettant du travail », déclare-t-il, avant de détailler son transfert vers un camp de formation militaire à #Kamanyola , suivi de son envoi sur la ligne de front.

​S'exprimant sur les circonstances de son arrestation, le capturé soutient avoir cherché à se désolidariser des affrontements et apporte des précisions sur sa prise en charge par ses ravisseurs : « Je me suis séparé des autres . Les éléments locaux m'ont capturé, ils ne m'ont fait aucun mal, m'ont donné à boire et à manger. » a-t-il déclaré
