@matteocollina@nodejs I used to work at a place that stored scripts in mongodb to dynamically run them in prod. This feature would have been nice to have back then, to run the scripts from like gists
We recently added idle compaction to Claude Code!
It now compacts long idle sessions right before the prompt cache expires (~1h). If you come back to it later, it only has to reprocess the summary instead of the entire conversation, which saves you some usage.
@legorobotdude@lydiahallie You should archive those convos if they're done :)
I think this is net useful, lots of times my sessions are sitting at 700kish tokens and after cache expiry paying cache write again for all of that is rough
@thekitze it's fine if you think of bots as context windows and not personas. each bot has some tokens of rolling context window and autocompacts regularly, ofc you don't want them to have scrambled context so you assign them "roles"
eng bot shouldn't care about my x feed
@flybayer there's a faire eng article about this too, it's from a while back but it was a good read, it's probably more relevant now than before

@0x_kaize cursor cloud agents ran my on demand usage bill up to $1158 π so be careful of that too for eng bots. this is after telling it to stop using opus 5.5 and to only use the grok models once i hit $200 in usage
mcp events are incredible.
your users can set up their agents to listen to events in your system, enabling them to do proactive work whenever things happen without any user input.
implement it in your mcp servers!
