@allenholub Do your acceptance tests encapsulate edge cases in a single test? Sometimes it seems easier to just brain dump all the related flows into multiple test cases and then chip away at making them green. I could do them one at a time, but seems more likely I’d forget something.

Lastly, I'll say this team's management chain is awesome. Everyone from the direct line managers through the director are great people who care deeply about the humans they work with. I've seen both great and terrible managers in my career and these folks are among the best.

@forrestbrazeal @ben11kehoe Were they familiar with the “shoot yourself in the foot” idiom? Is that common outside of native US English speakers? I don’t remember when I first heard “footgun” but it seems really intuitive for me given that I use the more general idiom all the time.

@bestofamznblind I assume they aren’t implying that they would register this in the time off tool. I do this from time to time when I need some heads down time. Put a block on your calendar, set Slack to away, setup email auto reply and get some stuff done. But don’t use a real PTO day.
