Dear Ambitious Pastor,
Please stop trying to build a brand around yourself. You’re not that important. What you have to say isn’t as unique and compelling as you think. You’re not a guru. You’re a servant and steward. You don’t have enough time to build your personal brand and shepherd the people God has entrusted to your care. If you want to do that, great. Just please step away from ministry. We don’t need another pastor trying to profit off his people by selling his personal insights at a premium.

Preach the gospel. Be faithful in season and out of season. Serve the Saints. Honor your Savior. Die in obscurity.

If this has to be said to you, you’re probably not the best person to be giving advice to the people of God.
