@TaylorStreet312 @adamjohnsonNYC Competent governments actually do put railings where multiple suicide-by-trains have happened in the past, and don’t expect the “keep off tracks” signs to work by themselves.
My friend's home burned down in the Boulder county fires on Thursday, and he lost basically all of his possessions. If you can spare some change, please give him some to help get back on his feet. https://t.co/GP9zgsZ1HC
@b0rk Much more than any discrete elements of the list: understanding assembly is what fully removed the veil of mysticism from the way I programmed. Abstractions were no longer just things I could build up, but things that I could drill down into if needed/wanted. No more magic.
@georgemporter @mauricioaniche @johnregehr I've started putting on shoes and walking out onto my apartment's balcony and back in through the other door to simulate a "commute". It's had a noticeable ability to get me into "work-mode", at least for a couple hours. Mind tricks can't make up for a bad work environment though
I'm working with @msbernst and epidemiologists at @UVA_BI to enable volunteers to fill a gap in scientists’ ability to model COVID-19. Help predict the spread of COVID-19 by adding data on what social distancing rules are in place in your own county at https://t.co/v9PGEJDFGf!
@seangies @mcclure111@Catfish_Man Replies that weren't to other people you also follow is a somewhat recent addition. Sometime in the last couple years.
@LeehiYona I've been using Zotero recently: https://t.co/dl9Qyj1ZKL, which is a big step up from my previous download folder full of pdfs and google doc annotated bibliography.
@jeremyphoward@nytimes@chrishwiggins "The most well-known example of exercising people power is a consumer boycott" is a wild statement, given the history and efficacy of collective labor power.
@matiasgoldberg@bgolus@JoshuaBarczak Good enough for profile pics for large propaganda bot farms, but not good enough to make a prominent fully fabricated celebrity.
@killerooo Awesome! This was produced as a side effect of me scanning papers for potential applications of a DSL, so I needed a conservative search. Titles underestimate, text definitely over estimates the relevant papers.
