Being rightwing means believing that there is some kind of natural hierarchy, and honor in knowing one's place in it. It encourages servility up the hierarchy and cruelty down the hierarchy. Being servile and cruel is loser shit. Surely most young men don't want to be losers.
Because the right wing destroys every society it touches: it is a death cult for cowards, bootlickers, and sell-outs. The left wing is based in liberation for the working class and therefore rebellion against exploiters and the lazy rich.
The Hellraiser movies really kinda sucked after the first one. Cheap gory garbage with little substance.
The cenobites are supposed to be esoteric, mysterious creatures from a different world, totally at skew lines to anything we'd think of as demonic or angelic.
They had their own plane of existence, their own strange rules, their own twisted philosophy. Not good or evil, but operating on a moral basis that is alien to humanity.
THAT is interesting. Want to show me cosmic horror? Give me something so strange to me that I have a difficult time relating it to anything familiar about my world. Make the motives and operating basis of its creatures so inscrutable that it takes me multiple rewatches to work it out.
We used to have artists and storytellers who really tried to do this.
Incase you missed it yesterday, an Israeli marketing firm used website ads to distribute spyware created by Israeli developer Candiru and all it took for it to infect people’s phone was visiting a website with the infected ads on it and then allowing the ad to load on the page.
There are potentially hundreds of millions of people with Israeli spyware on their phones right now and they have no clue.
JK Rowling’s transphobia has ruined Harry Potter. That is a shame, there was a real magic in the fantasy of it. As a kid, I always loved imagining going to private coed boarding school. Inheriting a big pile of money. Drinking non alcoholic beer. Owning a little slave guy
Opression of the working class, commodity fetishization, wage labor being inherently exploitative, the workers create value and are entitled to the means of producing said value
marxists: who owns what? what is the broader social relation being reproduced at this micro scale of individuals? what is the ultimate principle governing that dynamic? is there accumulation happening? for what purpose?
"leftists": i'm getting paid good and i'm happy
