@chriswithans In my opinion, Trump was the only serious GOP candidate that could have lost in 2024. But the Dems made so many errors in the lead up to the election and the GOP managed to capitalize on all of those errors.
@chriswithans It doesn't seem that farfetched? Both Biden and Trump were around -15 net approval. A non controversial GOP candidate would have had a cakewalk, whereas Trump was underwater and had lots of baggage from his first term.
@frank_hank43611@chriswithans I think that people who were dialed in on politics noticed the decline. But the median voter didn't and it wasn't a major campaign issue until the GOP very smartly put it front and center in early 2024
@SethAbrams1@johnbriandalto1@PollTracker2024 I think there is a legit chance that Marx doesn't break 25. I could see it being 62 percent Weiser, 24 percent Marx, 14 percent Lopez
@KimballCall But as soon as it becomes a moral binary of hookup culture vs wait until marriage, hookup culture wins. A focus on the secular dangers of casual sex rather than religious moral absolutism is what is needed if any progress is going to be made on this (4/4)
@KimballCall they are just going to tune that out. Instead there needs to be an effort to make sure those people know that a lot of people aren't participating in hookup culture and that it's ok not to. That completely removing emotion from sex is actually harmful. (3/x)
@clusterbitch_@davidslosttt They perform pretty well. Since 2018, on the generic ballot, they have been R+3.4, D+6.9, D+1.8, D+1.7. With the exception of the miss in 2020, that is a strong record.
@TheBirdWords I don't think any serious political minds or the Talarico campaign thinks he is running away with the election. The consensus seems to be that he's a slight favorite.
@JBSDC I think it's the anti incumbent effect. In red states the GOP is getting the full brunt of it, but in blue states incumbent Dems are also getting blamed by the "Everything is too expensive and sucks now" voting bloc.
@DNVR_Rams I wish Hauss hadn't gotten hurt. CSU obviously wasn't going to win with how the defense played. But it could've been a fun offensive shoot out.
@TFCCSU 95 percent of students are well behaved. But no one is reining in the ones who are out of control. Last week there was a girl who pissed herself before the end of the first half. How hard is it for security to take proactive action and remove people?
@TFCCSU This needs to start with better crowd control by stadium security. A student threw a beer and almost hit a player when BYU ran out after halftime. Several students in 120 we're yelling sexual comments at BYU cheer and female staffers within earshot of security - nothing done
@kanyutewest The news coverage makes it seem like the chants were prominent and sustained. They really happened twice during warmups and each time lasted only a short time before dying out or being replaced with f*** BYU. CSU has some problems with crowd behavior, but this is being overblown
