"There is a phrase in the Catholic Church for a certain kind of believer: the cradle Catholic. It means the one who was born into the faith, baptized before he could speak, raised inside the rituals so completely that he never had to choose them. He did not convert. He did not study his way in or have a come-to-Jesus moment that brought him to the church door as a grown man. The cradle Catholic was simply always there. And the church has a quiet worry about him, an insecurity, because the thing you are handed in the cradle is the thing you are most likely to take for granted. The convert had to earn the faith and so he knows exactly what it is. The cradle Catholic risks practicing out of habit a thing he has never once had to defend.
"I have come to think there is such a thing as a cradle American, and that many of us now are one. We were born into freedom the way the cradle Catholic was born into the faith. We did not convert to freedom. Most of us under seventy did not serve in the armed forces or march for it or risk our families. We were born into this land where the rights were already written down and the laws made. And like the cradle Catholic, we are in danger of losing the greatest thing we have ever been given, because a freedom you have never had to defend is a freedom you do not know how to defend."

@Tenn_MAGA2 No one wins, millions die of starvation, more die of disease, and all those good ole boys never see the drone that takes them out. Stop playing at war its not a game and you cannot imagine the horror this country would become.
Chuck Norris held a 183-10-2 record and was a 6x world champion in full contact bare knuckle karate.
On top of that, he beat heavyweight kickboxing world champion Joe Lewis 3 consecutive times and also had a brutal sparring match with undefeated kickboxing world champion, Bill Superfoot Wallace, that lasted an hour and a half. According to Wallace, they practically stalemated and "beat the crap out of each other".
Chuck was trained in kickboxing/boxing by Benny The Jet Urquidez and was also trained in BJJ by the Gracies and Machados for 20 years. Even being able to submit Carlos Machado himself on occasion.
Chuck had a 315 Ibs bench press at 180 lbs bodyweight and was said to have a grip back in the day that nobody could escape from because he was so strong. Even Jean Claude Van Damme said he'd never fight Chuck Norris, despite being a kickboxing world champion himself.
Chuck held a 10th degree black belt in Chun Kuk Do, a 9th degree black belt in Tang Soo Do, an 8th degree black belt in Taekwondo, a 5th degree black belt in Karate, a 3rd degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and a black belt in Judo.
Rest in peace, Chuck!
One thing I have found when talking with Christians, and even pastors from what appear to be solid Bible believing churches, is a deep inconsistency when the subject of life comes up. When abortion is brought into the conversation most will agree that it is the killing of babies and will acknowledge that it is murder.
Yet when the conversation shifts to IVF the response often changes dramatically. The same people who were just agreeing that abortion kills babies will suddenly defend or celebrate the fertility industry as something good, compassionate, and helpful. The moral clarity that existed moments before seems to disappear the moment IVF is mentioned.
Part of the problem is that many people either do not understand how IVF actually works, or they simply have never stopped to think through what the process requires. IVF clinics rarely create just one embryo in hopes that child will be born. Multiple embryos are intentionally created because the industry expects that many will not survive the process or will never be implanted. Some embryos die during the procedure itself. Others are frozen indefinitely in storage. Many are discarded when they are considered unnecessary. Some are destroyed after genetic testing. Others are intentionally destroyed when families decide they no longer want them.
The number of lives lost through this process is staggering. Since IVF became common practice, well over 100 million embryos have been created worldwide, and an enormous number of them have been frozen, discarded, experimented on, or destroyed along the way. These are not disposable medical materials. Each embryo is a distinct human life made in the image of God.
That is why the inconsistency is so serious. You cannot condemn abortion for killing babies while celebrating an industry that routinely creates babies in a laboratory while fully expecting that many of them will be frozen, discarded, or destroyed. The location of the child does not change the moral reality. A child in the womb and a child created in a laboratory are both human beings.
If we are going to be consistent, we cannot remain silent about this. The destruction of human life does not become acceptable simply because it happens in a laboratory instead of an abortion facility. If we truly believe that every human being is made in the image of God, then we must be willing to say that IVF itself is sin.
The destruction of human life is built into the process itself. IVF was designed in a way that guarantees the loss, abandonment, and destruction of children made in the image of God. No amount of regulation can make sin righteous. The answer is not reform. The answer is repentance and abolition.
Christians should not be defending this industry, promoting it, or remaining quiet about it. The church needs to repent of the apathy and inconsistency that has allowed this to continue largely unquestioned. IVF is sin, and like abortion it must be abolished. Every child, whether in the womb or in a laboratory, deserves equal protection under the law because every child is made in the image of God.
God allows temptation because love is a gift freely offered and freely chosen. Virtue has to be practiced.
Holiness is formed when we keep turning back to Him, again and again.
Temptation can be an opportunity for deeper humility, stronger dependence on God, and a clearer “no” to everything that distracts from His great love.
Our culture tells us the goal of life is happiness at any cost. But God calls us to something greater.
Choose the greater portion: the joy that comes from holiness.
A woman said her husband’s truck was stolen in Tucson, Arizona. She said the police basically told her, “Sorry, this happens all the time. We cannot help you.”
She said they later found the man who did it. He faced seven charges, but the police refused to arrest him. At the time, the Tucson Police Department was a year behind in processing felony arrests that did not involve firearms.
And you wonder why the Nancy Guthrie investigation has been mishandled from the very beginning. Truly disgraceful.
They know nobody wants this. They know it won’t work, that everyone will hate it, and that it will fail. They don’t care.
They’re not making this for any audience. The whole point is destruction of a Western Christian work. That’s it. They’ll vandalize, high-five, and move on.
