STT was introduced in 2004 when LTCG tax on equities was removed. In 2018, LTCG tax came back, but STT continued.

Today, investors pay both taxes together.

Most countries have LTCG tax in some form.

The entire pavement has been completely encroached upon by two-wheelers, forcing pedestrians onto the carriageway while the High Grounds Traffic Police continue to look the other way.
