We need to talk about Roblox enforcement bans, because they have gotten completely out of hand. 🧵

Enforcement bans are the WORST update on Roblox by far. Nothing else even comes close. The way it works is fucked up. If you end up on the same IP address or Wi-Fi network as someone who got banned, Roblox automatically makes the absurd assumption that you are the same person as the banned account, therefore enforcement banning yours for “ban evading”. And that’s it. Your account is gone.

It doesn’t take half a brain cell to realise just how stupid this logic is. You can’t play Roblox on any public WiFi, like a hotel or a shopping mall or a school, because there’s a 99% chance you’ll get banned. If you connect to public WiFi with Roblox open, banned! If you have an idiot sibling, banned! If you use a public VPN, banned! If you were hacked, and the hacker gets banned, you also get banned!! For doing. Absolutely. Nothing. Wrong. And if you’re enforcement banned, getting your account back is virtually impossible, because of how shitty Roblox’s support and appeal system is. Almost all of the responses you get are AI clankers, and most of the responses actually done by humans are so braindead, they may as well be AI.

You see all the people complaining about chat restrictions and dynamic faces and all that bullshit when, unless you’re someone like KreekCraft, enforcement bans put you at risk of losing your account FOREVER and all your progress throughout many years, all because of something you never even did. I have not seen nearly enough backlash from the community for how catastrophic and destroying this update is. Enforcement bans were introduced in 2023, and since then, Roblox has REFUSED to get rid of them despite the hundreds of thousands of false positives, and the community has said almost NOTHING about it!!!!!

Whichever person at Roblox suggested this update and thought it was a good idea should be fired. On the spot. I generally love Roblox, but this update is pretty much the one and only thing that infuriates me. And the thing is, this update makes 0 sense?? It’s extremely easy for actual malicious users to circumvent. It’s also a terrible business move for Roblox. They lose hundreds of thousands of their most dedicated players who spend so much robux and time on the platform. Their mishandling of false bans directly violates major laws such as the EU Digital Services Act, the UK Online Safety Act and the Consumer Rights Act. So why are they insisting on keeping this horrible horrible update that doesn’t even work against malicious users and only bans those who were truly innocent?

Roblox’s banning and moderation system in general is extremely harsh and faulty. The fact that people can instantly lose their accounts they’ve spent tens of thousands of hours & so much money on in the first place over a silly mistake is extremely fucked up imo. Enforcement bans make the problem 100x worse, because it puts anyone at risk.

Enforcement bans need to go. They need to go right now. To hell. Forever. Everyone who has been enforcement banned needs to be unbanned. And the only way this is ever going to happen is if all the great people of Robloxia come together and speak out against this update, and I mean EVERYONE. If you care about the safety of your account, you should be getting involved. Because you wouldn’t want to be the next victim of this awful update. Especially if you’re one of those content creators or influential people, please speak up about this as well, as you guys are where most of the influence comes from. Roblox Support is a total joke right now. They falsely banned my main account due to a shared campus Wi-Fi IP, and all I get from support are generic bot templates telling me they "won't provide further information.” 🙄🙄

I am unable to appeal my enforcement ban through the Violations & Appeals page, as whenever I try to submit it through the report a mistake button here it tells me there was an unexpected error. The support form says I must appeal through this page. What?

I’ve been seeing this happen to a lot of people, some of whom have been pleading on the devforums for months to get this issue resolved only to keep running into Roblox’s support bot constantly denying and ignoring them.

Deletion is scary as hell, and shouldn’t be used on regular people unless they’ve violated something super serious. Having no route to a proper human review is infuriating.

There has been a growing trend of users reporting unfair falsely bans allegedly caused by AI-automated moderation, including enforcement bans, Child Safety violations, terrorism-related violations, and asset moderation.

Thousands of accounts may have been affected by these banwaves, with users potentially losing Millions of dollars' worth of virtual assets and purchases.

I sincerely hope Roblox will take a closer look at its moderation system, investigate these reports, and ensure that innocent users are not unfairly penalized.

Today, ROBLOX banned me from a false enforcement ban, believing that I was the alt that did severe violations even though I don't own an account, or know one that starts with CH.

ROBLOX ENFORCEMENT BANS: PLEASE READ IF YOU'VE BEEN AFFECTED ♡

I've seen a lot of people saying they've been enforcement banned today, so I wanted to make a post to help anyone going through this, as the exact same thing happened to me back in June and I am still not unbanned.

My main account, crystalbreeze39, was permanently terminated for allegedly being linked to an account I don't own or recognise. I've lost access to my account, including everything I had on it, and despite sending multiple appeals, I kept receiving denials, some even within minutes.

If this has happened to you, here's what I'd recommend:

1. (The obvious one) TRY TO APPEAL YOUR BAN

The first thing to try is appealing your ban to Roblox! Although honestly, based on my experience, appeals feel almost hopeless, as mine were repeatedly denied, some even within minutes. It often feels like you're not getting a proper review of your case, and unfortunately based on what I've seen, it's unlikely you'll get anywhere with it. (P.S. I also believe you have to be ID verified to appeal sadly but check yourself!)

2. SAVE EVERYTHING

Take screenshots of your termination notice, appeal responses and any relevant information. Keep records of dates, usernames and any correspondence with Roblox. This will help you keep track of your case if you need to send an MIDR Letter (point 3).

I didn't do this very well when I first got banned, and looking back, having everything properly documented could have been really helpful for my MIDR letter. Learn from my mistake and keep as much evidence as possible from the beginning!

3. (MOST IMPORTANT) LOOK INTO THE MIDR LETTER PROCESS!

MIDR stands for Mandatory Informal Dispute Resolution and an MIDR letter is a formal letter to Roblox's legal team, asking them to address a dispute (like your ban). It's an option worth looking into if you believe your account was wrongfully terminated and normal appeals haven't helped.

A few days ago, I sent Roblox an MIDR letter myself, asking for my case to be properly addressed. I'm still waiting for a response, so I can't promise it'll work or say exactly how long it'll take. It may take weeks or months, and there's no guarantee of getting your account back. However, I personally know someone who got unbanned this way, and I've also seen several posts from people reporting that their accounts were reinstated after sending an MIDR letter. This is why I think it's worth looking into, especially if your appeals are already being denied.

4. DON'T ASSUME IT'S HOPELESS

I know how devastating this is, especially if you've had your account for years, own valuable limiteds or have spent a lot of money on Roblox. I know how it feels to think you've lost everything overnight.

Some people have successfully had their accounts reinstated after being terminated from an enforcement ban (even though wrongful bans shouldn't be happening in the first place) so please don't automatically assume your account is gone forever. However, every case is different, and nobody can guarantee that your ban will be reversed.

5. PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHO YOU TRUST

When people lose their accounts, they're understandably desperate to get them back. If you post about your ban, you may get bots or suspicious accounts telling you to message someone who can supposedly get you unbanned. Please be careful, as these are almost always scams!

Never share your password or account details, and don't pay anyone promising to recover your account. Stick to Roblox's official appeals process and research the MIDR route if appropriate. Please don't let scammers take advantage of you while you're already going through something horrible. ♡
